Ladies, If I offended either of you I am sorry. It was not my intention.

When I was on the BTD site today they sell a V6 1 carat round in F color for $215.00. MiaDonna sells a 1 carat round in D color for $400.00 leaving a price difference of $185.00 to go from a F colored stone to a D colored stone and the MiaDonna stone comes with a grading card from the Global Gem Lab in washington.

I would estimate MiaDonna to have 10 times the selection that BTD does.

So for me to have a D in color, a lifetime warranty, a selection that is not even comparable, the availability to make a custom piece if I wanted to and all the other stuff I mentioned before I think MiaDonna is a much nicer company and store. Sorry thats just the way I feel.

The difference between F and D color stones is so minor! Really, the only way to see the difference is when the stone is loose and upside down on a white piece of paper. When set in a ring or other setting, the difference would be very, very, very small. I can't argue with the selection difference between the 2 companies, but I know the quality of settings and workmanship at BTD is top notch and the owner of BTD stands behind his product. The reason BTD does not offer lifetime warranty is because Asha stones last years and years with proper care, and less than 1% of the stones break or crack due to anything OTHER than negligence of the user or jeweler.

I will happily disclose that I DO work for BTD, and confirm that Erika and Bling do not work for BTD.

If folks have questions about Asha and Miadonna, I would suggest writing to the CS department of both companies and comparing answers.

Personally, at the prices MiaDonna is charging for her diamond rings, center stone asid, i think you would get a better deal by buying a loose stone from better than diamonds, and then finding a diamond engagement on ebay or other diamond jewelry websites. And then with the extra money get jewelry insurance. They way you save money and your entire ring is protected, not just the stone.

For custom jewelry, i would work with a local jeweler so i could discuss the item in person and see, touch, etc the ring before it was finalized. Its just so difficult over the internet

I think that due to social and environmental pressure the entire industry will eventually move to man-made diamonds just as most pearls found today are cultured pearls.

That's an interesting analogy--I hadn't thought of it that way. In my mind though I can't decide if this would happen or not. Diamonds seem different than pearls somehow but I can't pinpoint it.
