"Cheating" method to extend straps!

I just wanted to chime in - I have been so grateful to roath's suggestion to use this hardware to extend the straps since it has made my bag even more perfect! I purchased the same clips as she did and they've worked out great for me. I've been using my bag for over a month without any urge to switch out to another - I think a record for me. :)

The clips alone make a significant difference in the length, but I also purchased these keychain split rings (B2020 7/8" Antique Brass, Key Ring, Solid Iron) to extend it just a smidge more.

Wow, thanks for that link, it looks like a great site for anyone who is handy with handbag modifications.

I've been toying with the idea of modifying the chain on my Marc Jacobs Stam with a piece of leather (chain hurts my shoulders).

Thanks for this info and the link! I ordered these and finally retrieved them from the mailbox this morning so today is the first time I'm using them. So far, so good! I feel a little self-consious about them but I'm sure I'm the only one that notices the extra (not exactly matching) hardware.

It's still cold out so this works much better over my big puffy winter coat. i'll try to take a pic later.

These are great ideas! I have serveral bags I no longer carry because the straps are too short making them very uncomfortable to use. It is such a waste of a perfectly good bag not to use it for just that reason.

I realize this is an old thread but figured it may help someone.
I was about to copy and do the same thing to extend my ps1 strap as I'm 5'9" ...then I looked through my closet and came up with the idea to use the chain from my ps1 woc. The only downside is it makes the strap/bag pretty heavy-but I am currently loving it!!

Thanks for reviving this thread. Getting the link to thebuckleguy.com is a huge resource. And congrats on your solution.
