So my mother and I were talking tonight about bag prices and I told her I was going to go on here to ask you guys about our question. See my mom is going to the Philippines in 2 months and she asked me if the bags would be cheaper in the Philippines since the rates are different and it’s kind of a 3rd world country where she grew up. I always believed that Louis Vuitton prices stay the same as US prices just converted to whatever the rate is in the country. I say if $1 in the US is 45 pesos in the Philippines then a $500 bag would be 22500 pesos. Am I right or wrong? Cause if it is in fact cheaper in the Philippines i might just make my mom get me a few things at the store there then getting them here in the US. Please help me.. lol

it's much cheaper in the US than in the philippines. the MC alma bag is only $1590 in the US, while in the Philippines it's P84,500, roughly $2036 if you convert it. ($1=P41.5)

I was there in LV Manila last June and all prices are the same except that you really don't have much choices. Maybe it changed now..

buying LV in the Philippines is definitely a bad idea. A $650 speedy (excl. taxes) in the US would be $770 (incl taxes). The $1300 passy (excl taxes) is $1800 here (incl taxes). and yes the choices are pretty limited and the waiting list is pretty long.

If your mom has a PAL flight which has a Hawaii stopover, the prices there are a little cheaper than in the mainland US. The $650 speedy is just around $640 in hawaii, tax-inclusive. hope this helps!

If HK < China and Macau < HK
then Macau < HK < China
and therefore China is the most expensive out of the three and not cheaper than Macau.
Hope that helps.

can anyone confirm that Macau is cheaper HK ? how much is the difference? thanks!

if Macau is cheaper, would Macau store has a better selection?
