Someone posted Germany Frankfurt as being the cheapest place to purchase an LV, not to start an agrument, but I disagree. I bought one there last summer, not cheapest at all. It used to be a bit cheaper in germany, in munchen as well, but I am going up there in 4 days, and the prices have risen dramatically.
I believe it is France.

I was in Europe just less than two years ago and Paris is definitely cheaper than London, Vienna & Salzburg . I was not only checking the prices for LV , for Hermes as well. You just want to make sure you would get the VAT refund at the airport because the taxes are included in the price whereas we pay taxes on top of the retail price in US and Canada. Plus you have to show all your items to the officers at the aiport to prove the bags are leaving the country with you. I remember the two bags that I purchased in Paris (I got a Hermes and LV) are about 30 - 35% cheaper than buying in Canada.

Save up and spend big!

You are right. All euro countries are a bit more expensive than France but not a lot.

No it's definately not France..Since LV is a French brand most people think it's cheaper there, but it's not. Same goes for Hermes.
Also I would take into consideration the exchange rate..The saving you might get from purchasing a bag from Europe would be offset by the exchange rate. The euro is way stronger than the dollar now..

My opinion of France being the cheapest place to buy LV doesn't have anything to do with LV being French. Out of all euro countries France is definitely the cheapest. It is also definitely cheaper than the UK and some other Europeran countries like Sweden. When I compare the current prices on vuitton.com French and US websites France is cheaper than the US. For instance mono speedy 25 in France is 410€ whereas in the US 660$ which at the moment is ~428€ etc. I don't know if there is also some tax that needs to be added on the 660$.

Of course this leaves many countries which can be cheaper but I highly doubt that. During sometime prices in the US for instance can be cheaper than in France but LV always increases its prices when that happens beacuse of exchange rate issues.

France is the definitely the cheapest and of course neighbouring countries in Europe. Currently, due to the exchange rate, UK is slightly cheaper than Germany. As in Asia, LVs in Hong Kong, Macao and Singapore are cheaper than Malaysia. I think China is the most expensive. Not sure about Vietnam, LV was about to open in Ho Chi Minh when I was there early last year.

I can't wait for my Epi Madeleine PM in Black and Vernis Rosewood in Pearl. Got my uncle who is on business trip to Munich, Germany to buy them for me. It will cost me an extra RM1000 each, approx. US$310, if I were to get them in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

I even have price comparison sheet in Excel.

Hi NVIE,
pls share with us yr price comparison in excel. thanks...
as i will be going to Italy end of the month, thinking to get one Tivoli GM, but not sure if i should wait till when i have chance to go to Paris to buy it...
Also does anyone know the price for Tivoli GM now?
As i read from the post here is Euro 810, but E-shopping website shows Euro 625?

Thanks. ;)

IF you can get the tax reduction as an american france is DEF MUCH cheaper than the US. And it's the cheapest place to get it in Europe for sure. There's no question. It used to be even cheaper when the euro as stronger, but it's always been like this.
