I once sold an item at auction and the buyer sent me an e-mail asking if I could find it in my heart to cancel the sale because she had left her computer on, ebay was opened to my item as she had bid on it, then her son came on and won it for her.....WAAAAYYYYY over the price that any reasonable person would have bid. I obliged. It was obvious that something was amiss.

Poop happens.

it is the walnut lily,it doesnt have the contrast stitching. the bag is very close to the shade of whiskey but just less red tone.

^I can verify just based on having Lily satchels in both sizes still NWT that the XL was indeed a designation to differentiate between the large and smaller size satchels, although in reality it is obvious based on the size, turnlock flap, lack of kisslock pocket on the medium, and price. Not sure where the XL designation originated from, though, as it's literally been all over the internet for years now, but I guess it could have started from the club thread here. I do know that when it's not listed that way on Ebay for the larger size, everyone asks which size! I've had a LOT of PMs over the years about the diff, lol! In any event, the tag does just read "Legacy leather Lily", $1200, for the "XL" as we define it here, and the smaller Lily tag reads "Legacy leather medium Lily", $768.

As for the bag in question, I also think it's probably walnut just based on the waxy appearance of the leather. Whiskey is generally more porous and has a totally different look and texture. There is actually a period of time where BOTH colors can look very similar despite the ultimate reddish appearance. I've had both pieces that nobody could ascertain the correct color (outside of the leather appearance IMO, which gave it away), but over time, the whiskey does redden more as it darkens. The walnut is more of a dark neutral brown. My bag is darker than this one at least based on photos, but that all depends on the environment and specific leather piece.

CONGRATS CA!!! I'm glad you were able to score one at a great price!!!

Just wanted to report back that you both were right, the Lily I bought last week IS the Walnut color, I'm so excited!!! When I first opened up the box and looked at it, I wasn't so sure, but when I got out my Whiskey and compared the two, it is definitely Walnut!!! (bad news was that I noticed my Whiskey Lily, which hasn't been used in a while) is starting to suffer from the dreaded verdigris around the rivets. I spend an hour w/ toothpicks trying to clean her up!). The Walnut one I just bought is in LIKE NEW condition, yay!!

Oh that is AWESOME!!! I am so happy for you!!! :yahoo: It's a great bag, and I hope the color works better for you than the whiskey!

I also want to share I just nabbed a HG bag of mine that I missed in fp back '08 (I still have several I'm looking for!). It is an exotic Sabrina in PURPLE!!! NOT embossed, but the real $3k enchilada! I got a tip from someone, and I ordered it. It arrived very quickly, and while I was so NOT impressed with the way they shipped it AT ALL , the bag looks to have not been used IMO...or at least very little. So now I'm happy I passed it up in fp (and even PCE, since that would have been a lot more expensive too!). On the shipping note, though, it's amazing to me that boutiques and consignment shops that deal with handbags don't have the first clue about proper packaging! It's worse than an Ebay seller sometimes! I also ordered a Florentine piece from D&B, and OMG, it was the worst shipping ever too! It even got misrouted, and time it got here, the box was half open, and the item was coming out of the packaging and just flopping around.

Anyway, CONGRATS on your great score!!!

oooohhhhh, can I see it?

Nordie's score Yay! So I just ordered this cute little bag at a great bargain: http://www.coach.com/online/handbag...t2Id=5000000000000052052&tier=2&LOC=LN#105027

and I think it was meant to be :) Here's my story (sorry, longish but I had to share before I burst and I CAN'T tell dh!) -I was looking for a bag that I could just take to the park for my sons teeball games and not have to freak out about it....meaning it had to be both cheap and cute (and preferably crossbody). Anyway...ordered a glam tote from the recent Madison/Poppy factory online sale and didnt' really like it when it came in. Trekked to my boutique to return it and look for something else. I swear I spent like an hour in the store going round and round about all these other glam totes and poppy bags (dove/silver, dove/rose, khaki/bronze, legacy stripe....you get the idea)...then, I spied a white/silver sig glam tote and it was love at first sight! :hbeat: BUT there was no way I could take her to the park worry free, not in white!....what's a girl to do? :thinkin: well OF COURSE I bought her and just figured I'd use something else to go to the park. Of course the poppy legacy stripes kept haunting me (see my sig, lol)....today I ran to Target for something else and felt oddly like I should peek into Nordstrom even though I was just there like 3 days ago. I decided that if I could park up front I'd listen to my gut....lmao. You can see where this is going....ran in quick and was checking out a teensy little poppy legacy stripe crossbody type bag that was marked down to $98 but, argh, so small! The nice girl comes over and says "do you need help?" On a total whim, I ask if they have the bigger bags in this pattern and she checks her system....hippie is avail and OMG only $113! :happydance: Guess who just found her "park" bag?! I can't wait!

Also on the sale table....because I know you all want to know:
1. plum patent Maggie around $250ish (also had matching wristlet at $39)
2. little crossbody type in op art sig, silky fabric with fawn colored leather trim (magenta/gray/fawn pattern....sorry I don't know this better!) It was like $98 and also had matching wristlet for $31 (came so close to bringing them home!)
3. a large black leather Lindsey, silver hw....can't remember the price
4. natural vachetta whipstitched hippie (didn't check the price, sorry!)
5. a bunch of black sig bags...sophia? lindsey? hard for me to tell and I was really pressed for time!
6. poppy denim sig little crossbody (maybe a hippie too? can't recall)

Sorry, that's all I can remember....happy shopping!
