Ignore sellers chat: "I would guess this bag is somewhere between the mid 1940's in age through the 1950's, and possibly even one of the first editions that Coach ever made- personally it's one of the oldest style Coach bags I have ever seen." ;)
I guess you could call or chat online with Coach customer service and give them the
model# J7E-4417 and see if they can provide any info.

You don't need to and they wouldn't be able to help anyway. Several people on the forum know a lot more about older Coach than anyone answering the phones at Coach.

The bag was made in 1997 in Italy, like all the Madisons from that time. I doubt the color is accurate in the photos. I've never seen a bright blue. It is probably navy.

ETA: I forgot to mention that it is authentic, but missing the strap.

Until about a year ago I was happy with one bag for summer and one for winter and a couple of others for whenever. I was looking for a new winter bag and couldn't find anything in the stores that I liked or could afford and I bought a couple off ebay Australia and returned them because they were either fake or crapola. Then I bought a Brahmin satchel from a US seller and was so happy with it that I kept looking on ebay.com. Once I discovered Coach and this Forum I was done for. Now it's like "What have I been missing out on all these years? A woman has to have nice handbags - they are an extension of our bodies and souls." LOL! That's my reasoning anyway.

I seriously have bought 2 purses in 4 years before this. One was a Kathy Van Zeeland and one was an older (and possibly fake) Kate Spade. Then my MIL gave me a Coach that was too small for her...and that is now one of 15 Coach purses I own with one more on the way, and lets see I think I have 3 wristlets too. I yell at her every time I see her that she started this!!!

Love the color, yeah just off a bit on the age. :p

FWIW, I messaged the seller this morning letting her know the mfg date of the bag, she has since edited her historical facts.

Belmont start at $49.95

(*swoon* I didn't know my dream bag existed until I saw this Belmont. It looks tiny. Does anyone have one and confirm size? )

This has been on my wish list for a while too! It is so cute. However, I have seen one listed that wasn't stuffed and it looked a bit flat and floppy. I don't know about the size.

The Belmont is a great bag. I had a beautiful black one until my girlfriend stole it right out of my house. LOL Size...it wasn't exactly what I'd call tiny, The measurements in this listing are accurate.

BIN is now $300!

Wow! It makes me feel like I should have bought it because it was such a bargain before. I wonder if the seller would have actually sold it at $65. Once I did a BIN on something and the seller refunded me, claiming he meant to make it an auction with that being the starting price.

Just did a total ebay impulse buy. Poorly listed black cherry Molly with matching wallet for $105, including shipping. Now the waiting game begins....
Last time I did this I scored a parchment Issy, so let's hope my luck continues.
