Muchy is correct. That was the DV I returned. The color was not deep and saturated like in the photos. It also had no gloss or shine to it, which tends to mute the color, unlike my glossy, screaming deep purple DV velo that set my expectations too high.
Of all the later Bal purples, DV comes closest to 04 Eggplant in color (not leather), though still not quite there. Eggplant is impossibly deep, rich and saturated even without the color boost from gloss.

yes I figured it was a confusion in years....beautiful bag though...well, off I go wait for my grenat or bordeaux to appear out of blue (in my dreams perhaps)
