Guess there is a lot of luck and different routes you can take to stardom, but Charlie, after all these years in the business, is not recognized as a Class A actor in any "big time" movies. What would your opinion be as to why he isn't?

My opinion is that he chooses to lead his life the way he does because he has no interest in being famous or rich. He's said so many times. He says he wants to be an actor, not a celebrity. It's working for him. I see very few fans complaining about his lack of accessibility.

sunmeadow and lillygurl, I think it is a great idea, but I don't believe that either of the stars you referred to jumped out of a private life and into stardom and all this time have kept a separate life to Hollywood. I read about one of them and see his picture quite often. He chooses his roles carefully and often those roles have been "indie" films. Small budget pictures etc. Generally speaking I think they have been good films but don't have the clout of big budgeted films. Big budget films want big name stars who can carry a film and he's not there yet.

We also don't know what he has turned down or roles he didn't get that might have been offered to him.

Say what you will about 50 Shades but it put his name out there even farther. Why? Name recognition.( Wise choice on his part not to take that role but still it didn't hurt him either.) Who is this guy from SOA maybe we should check him out.

'Pacific Rim' was a big budget high profile movie and raked in $411 million +. Plus high recognition director G. Del Toro. Del Toro was so impressed by Charlie that he asked him back for another film. You don't think that carries clout?

'Crimson Peak' will be another high profile film from Del Toro and also stars Charlie among others. If that does well at the box office then Charlie is well on his way.

Bottom line in my opinion is that the only one who will hold Charlie back is Charlie and the roles he chooses to play. I think he's got his foot in the door already to being an A list actor. He's only 33 and has plenty of time to get there.

lillygurl, I have every faith that Charlie can accomplish whatever he wants to in acting. I have the entire series that is out on SOA now, and most of his movies.

I guess we just have different ideas on where his attitude (I do agree with his attitude) will take him.

Don't know much about Del Toro, but I know that most of his work is with the supernatural themes and action movies like Pacific Rim. I didn't hear many positive things about Pacific Rim and it did go to TV pretty fast. I bought a copy in 3D.

I really admire the positive things I have heard about Charlie; I would not argue with his right to privacy, etc., but that wasn't why I was trying to get other ideas about how he will do. I know that there are many ideas about any subject you can bring up.

I will miss this entire crew when season 7 is finished, and I know their other fans will also.

sunmeadow, I was only quoting what some "would be expert" stated. I am like you and Will Rogers -" I only know what I read in the papers." Or in this case, the computer.

I don't believe we disagree on our opinions of Charlie; he can fight his own battles but most of us do not understand what creates a success in Hollywood. I just hope that whatever it is, he has it.

Well according to Kurt Sutter he knew when he met Charlie that he was going to be a star. Probably that "it" factor that is often talked about.
