Ahhhh I received my Melody Backpack today and I’m in LOVE!!!!! The caviar is gorgeous and it looks and feels very durable and well constructed. It’s the best seasonal caviar I’ve personally come across that isn’t vintage or not on a mini flap. I would absolutely not describe the leather as “soft caviar.” It may be “soft” to some because it’s not extremely rigid like the caviar you find on classic flaps in classic colors, but it’s firm and thick. I’ve seen bags with soft seasonal caviar that didn’t feel durable and this is not it at all. I don’t find the chain heavy. In fact, I’m confused about that comment. It doesn’t feel different from the average Chanel chain. The chains are thin and not bulky, which I love. The profile is thin and falls perfectly flat and parallel to the back. And because of the profile, when you need to open the bag while one strap is attached to the shoulder, it’s easy to access. I feel like this is a backpack/bag hybrid. It’s so sleek and chic but edgy. I had the BA Backpack and felt it affected the way I stood because of how it feel on my back. Maybe because it was so large and slanted at the base. I feel like the best Chanel backpacks that sit well on the body and hold their shape better are ones that don’t slant at the base, like the Urban Spirit and Vintage Duma bags, among others. The size is comparable to a medium flap. I attached a photo of what fits inside, including my 13 Pro Max IPhone.

It’s incredibly well made. Between this backpack and my 21S caviar mini top handle, I can see the quality coming through. I feel like Chanel has stepped it up, although they still have to work at maintaining that across the board.

This is a special bag. It’s unique and not many people will have it. If it’s your style and vibe, I cannot recommend it enough!!!! It’s sooo beautiful.

Question though, can you pull up the shorter strap and wear it over the shoulder or cross body? It seems feasible on the photos but that could just be my imagination :lol:

Hehe it’s a beauty!! No, the BA Backpack is huge compared to this one. I added the measurements of both bags below.

The BA has a wide base and a wide body. It’s a gorgeous backpack but what I don’t love about it is the slanted base (the front slants downwards and the back is shorter) and with the front pocket filled with things like a phone (or even without one) the bag slants forward and causes a heavy line above the base of the bottom back of the bag. Like everything in the bag moves down and forward causing the leather to buckle from gravity. It’s talked about in bag reviews on YT. I also felt the very smooth caviar was prone to scratching.

I find the Melody Backpack so much more comfortable because of the profile. It’s a smaller backpack but perfect if you carry the essentials and a tiny bit more. Imo if the BA was smaller and the base made evenly all around with a slightly flatter profile it’d be sooo much better.

Omg I just passed on this same bag at my local Chanel. I bought a black woc with the ccs on the strap instead that came out in this season. Figured black will go with everything and I didn’t need 2 wocs but I love that color. This is mine hehe.

Side note for anyone that’s curious. When I compared this limited edition woc to the classic woc I noticed some differences: the limited edition one has a shorter chain length so sits higher on body, caviar is more matte and less puffy feeling and a bit softer, the zipper pull is in plastic/leather not metal, Lining of the bag matches the exterior, and the strap is connected to the bag in a different way, hardware is light gold not a strong yellow gold, CC logo is bigger at the front.

Sadly you cannot pull the shorter strap to wear it as cross body or on the shoulder. They made the chain slightly bigger where the straps are so that you can’t pull it through

Unlike what other ppl thought it was close to 21s lilac pink. To me, when I compared them side by side in person, they didn’t look at all similar. The 21s appeared a bit ashy next to 22p but by itself, I couldn’t see the ashy tone. Sorry I don’t have the classic woc anymore to show the difference but the limited edition one was sitting maybe 1-2in higher compared to the standard woc when I was comparing instores. Here’s a picture of the interior. Lowkey wish it had a bright fun lining color like maybe red lol08EAC03F-92EC-4988-868B-13BF50F21FF6.jpeg
