$7850 for a small CF and $8000 for med CF according to her are reasonable prices for unicorn bags. Is it? Asking for a friend

I don’t think it is reasonable, but I will say that one problem with the reseller market is that the bag has to be shipped at least twice (once to them and once to the buyer) and insured, safe shipping on a $7000 bag is not cheap. Also, if you want to use a safe payment method like PayPal, there are fees involved and obviously the seller does not want to lose money by eating those fees. With tax on a medium, you are looking at about $7500, plus cost to ship to you and PayPal fees, is probably around $7800. This is why I wish people would not waitlist and claim these bags if they do not want them, because someone else could have gotten their dream bag for retail plus tax.

What I will say is that a real personal shopper would charge a straight fee for everything ie 5% of retail same that a realtor gets or something. I can live with that. Resellers have no integrity and just shoot up the prices arbitrarily.

I’ve been reading this thread somewhat quietly for the past few pages as I have used a personal shopper on IG for Chanel items before.

I have a great SA at my local boutique who I work with whenever at all possible. But she also has let me see the full season catalog many a time and I have a knack for falling in love with something that the U.S. didn’t buy into. So I have a PS in London and another in mainland Europe that I’ve used, although it’s always been for misc SLGs as opposed to HTF bags, and the fee has usually been more of a flat rate.

What’s happening in the US with PS and resellers likely tying up the waitlists and then selling at a huge premium is definitely gross and disappointing to see.

Can u tell who is this reseller?? I’m based in australia and have seriously been looking for the caramel mini. Chanel keep saying they don’t have stock and yet all these resellers being able to “secure” how many bags etc is very frustrating!!!
yes, charlotteloveluxe

she seemed very sweet when she was first getting started and has always been very pleasant in her communication but it is very frustrating to see her have multiple hard to score bags!

I believe it. Chanel service is horrible in my opinion. They won’t even give you the time of day unless you have previously purchased in store. They act like you are bothering them. I seriously can’t stand it. For the price we pay for these items we should be treated excellent.. sick of it

It’s insane considering they make commission on every item sold. It’s actually in their best interest to bring new customers in. Someone that doesn’t have a bag is more likely to justify getting one than someone who already has 4 and is weighing if they seriously need another. No business can survive by simply maintaining current customers. You have to go out and hunt for new ones. The Chanel SAs that ignore, overlook, or don’t bother assisting new customers are actively sabotaging their own paychecks. It’s nonsensical.

That’s too bad Bc from what I’ve heard she doesn’t mark up her bags. Hopefully they get the people who have been marking up bags to crazy prices and laughing about “he he there’s a premium” etc
Agreed, she’s who I prefer to purchase through when I can’t get an item from my regular SA, If she does mark them up it must be very little because the last item I

this is one of my biggest annoyances from regular people on the Facebook group. They say they don’t want it and offer it for sale in the Facebook group with all the mark ups. They should just return it so the next person on the list can buy it at the boutique cost.

Resellers have no integrity and just shoot up the prices arbitrarily. That I have no respect for and will report their serial codes to Chanel so they get banned. I can respect someone who helps source for a flat fee. There’s a company actually that does that I just forget it’s name. But for arbitrary skyrocketed fees? Absolutely not and that’s where the outrage comes from and that’s why they’re about to get wrapped up

The problem lies with the demand. If people would stop buying, it would put them out of business. Just like drug dealers. There will always be people who will cheat the system to make $$. It's been going on since time began. Just look at all the fakes sold on Ebay.

Man Tou behind the IG account @luxbuntoutou is obnoxious, lacks maturity and professionalism! she has no consideration for interested buyers

OMG I thought it was only me who thought she was rude! I don't understand how people still buy from her. Even if she had the last unicorn bag on the universe, I would never give her my money! She's always posting laughing emojis and talking about her premium prices. It's so unethical. I totally understand how people want to buy bags and a make a living off of it but at least be respectful to your clients.

I recently posted a gold mini square available from my SA but decided to pass on it. I wanted it to go to another true bag lover and not a reseller so I asked if anyone was interested so I can share my SA's info. I had another TPF member message me and asked for it but after going back to my SA, she couldn't sell it to the member due to the waitlist she had. The only way the member can get the bag was if I bought it for her. I ended up chatting with her and said ok! It's a risk I'm taking but I hope it'll be good karma for me in the end.....*crossing fingers*

I thought I read somewhere that the freestanding boutique FAs no longer get paid on commission. Has anyone else heard this? Would certainly explain why they take days to respond now when they used to be extremely responsive.
