I just ordered the navy and white in the larger size, and I will return them. I didn't measure the strap drop but it's shorter than a jumbo, maybe about the same as an m/l? I don't think this bag will wear well b/c of how the corners poke out & how thin the caviar is. It IS nice leather but it's thin so it will wear easily.....I think the corners will burn faster than a boy....IMHO of course...Hello, I am so interested in the seasonal flap, I think they call it the sweet classic. For those of you who have one, what is the strap drop? Thanks!
Im not personally a fan of metallic colours but I agree silver and gold can match well with any outfit. I believe the silver mini is quite popular too so I wouldnt return it unless you are sure you dont want it as it may be harder to find? If you have concerns about the metallic or think it may be too delicate to maintain than I say exchange it for a classic colour as you originally wanted. The metallic layer should not necessarily peel off but it does happen as it has the metallic layer on top, once this happens they cannot repair it.Hi everyone, I recently purchase a 21P silver metallic mini flap from the Chanel boutique. I feel so lucky that my SA offers the bag to me and by seeing it in real life, it is extremely beautiful, just like liquid diamond. I initially wanted a black/navy/grey rectangle mini flap, but the boutique only has some bright colors, for example, yellow, mint green, and purple. I feel like silver is a neutral color to me and I often wear silver/ white gold accessories, therefore, once the bag is shown to me, I decided to take it back home. Everything went well until I saw comments about metallic lambskin and their experience with the leather. The reviews on the metallic lambskin are extreme. Some people mentioned that metallic lambskin is more durable than regular lambskin while others experienced that the metallic layer is peeling off after a couple times of wear. This is my first Chanel mini bag and I am wondering if I should exchange it for something else or should I keep it. Can anyone please share with me your opinions on the Chanel metallic lambskin especially in 21P, also any tips and tricks in taking good care of the metallic leather bag.
Any advice is appreciated, thank you so much!
I LOVE metallics, and have this bag in the gold. I have quite a few other Chanel bags of various leathers and styles, and this metallic bag does not feel especially delicate. It is impossible to predict, of course, but I would say I am cautiously optimistic about itHi everyone, I recently purchase a 21P silver metallic mini flap from the Chanel boutique. Thank you for the comment, I agree that you point out how hard it is to repair the metallic leather and require extra care while wearing the bag. I decided to keep the bag and wear it on a special occasion. Cheers!Im not personally a fan of metallic colours but I agree silver and gold can match well with any outfit. Thanks for commenting on my post and yes, the gold/silver metallic bags from 21P are absolutely beautiful in real life!I LOVE metallics, and have this bag in the gold. As you say, I find gold and silver to act as neutrals in my wardrobe, and these two 21P metallics are absolutely GORGEOUS. I would advise you to keep and love this stunning silver treasure!
I have only worn it twice so far, both times I wore the same top, a loose knit sweater that is long enough that the bag rests on it when worn crossbody. This was an intentional choice because I was nervous about color transfer. Instead of my usual medium to dark denim, I wore light gray denim once and very light was denim the second time. Thanks for commenting on my post and yes, the gold/silver metallic bags from 21P are absolutely beautiful in real life!
May I ask how is the wear and tear of this bag for now and what kind of colors/material of clothes would you suggest to dress while wearing this bag? I would like to wear a black or navy dress during the summer but I am afraid that there will be color transfer on the bag.

I wear a LOT of denim, and have been trying to lighten up my wardrobe a bit.
And I am happy to report that the bag is still in absolute perfect condition.
I have used Colinill Carbon Pro protective spray on many of my light colored bags, including many of my other Chanel bags, but I have been too nervous to try it on this metallic yet. I have read here on PS that other members have used it on their metallic bags with no harm, so I am definitely considering doing it. This particular bag is just such a treasure to me, I am nervous to take ANY risks, although my experience so far is that is seems sturdy.
I most DEFINITELY understand your wish to wear your silver with black and navy - the silver would be a stunning contrast against those dark colors. But I also share your concern about color transfer. I am going to go back and re-read all I can about members experiences with using Carbon Pro on metallic bags, and see if I can work up the nerve to try it
In the meantime, I am exploring lighter colors in my wardrobe, and adding a few new light colors pieces as well. Since spring is right around the corner, light colors are perfect.
TraceySH, did you see any other cons to this bag? I also ordered the large size in the navy. Since my local boutique didn't order this bag at all and Neimans only received the mini, I couldn't see it in person which I hate.I just ordered the navy and white in the larger size, and I will return them. It was a good alternative for a classic flap, and it didn’t weigh much either! But after owning so many jumbos, the difference in construction is so drastic that I would worry about it. And then I thought, for the price point, for a classic type of bag, the CCH might be better? You will see when you get it! It might totally fit your lifestyle perfectly!TraceySH, did you see any other cons to this bag? I also ordered the large size in the navy. Did you find it between the M/L and jumbo size? The SA told me it wasn’t as big as a jumbo, but a little bigger than the m/l. And that is why this bag has peaked my interest is just how crazy the price point for the m/l and jumbo’s are now. Love their beauty, but hate the exorbitant price they are at now. So when a nice looking seasonal piece comes along and it checks the box for navy (I’ve been wanting navy), I was really interested. Light weight is appealing to me, but I do want it to look and feel like it’s a quality bag. I guess I will see for myself when it comes this week.It was a good alternative for a classic flap, and it didn’t weigh much either! Congrats! Any chance your SA has another one? I was offered one and then lost it as I was late to respondHaving a layer of protective spray on a bag seems like a very brilliant idea! I think I will also do more research on protective sprays for bags. If I decided to use it, I might first try to spray it on only the back pocket of the bag since the color transfer usually happens on that specific area when wearing it as a crossbody bag. Depends on how the spray works on the bag, I will then decide if I would like to spray it on the entire bag. By the way, thanks a lot for sharing all of the information with me, I very much appreciate that!
Yes, it's exactly between the sizes. For that, it's great. The sides pinch in a bunch tho, I think that was a mistake b/c that's also what makes those corners stand out ready to be killed. But, I guess they couldn't make it TOO close to the CF!Did you find it between the M/L and jumbo size? The SA told me it wasn’t as big as a jumbo, but a little bigger than the m/l.
