The material is a wool / polymide mix, if I recall correctly; surprisingly light, not overly warm. Both SG boutiques brought in the black with 3/4 sleeves. I loved the pleating on the skirt, but didn't like the top part as much, so it was a pass for me. The belt is elastic.
Ooo, I'm liking what I see for the burgundy dress. Does it have long or short sleeve? Any idea of the material?
@pocketbook_pup, I think you made some great choices with classic pieces. Can't wait to see more pics!
@ms piggy, I will try the jacket if it makes it to sales, otherwise I don't want to tempt myself. I am on a jacket ban right now! @TankerToad stop tempting me with all the fabulous pictures! Jk don't stop, I love seeing them... I am loving just seeing everyone else's purchases right now. Fall/winter usually doesn't suit my climate so I'm hoping to do what I did last year and just wait until sales and pick one piece. Even though it's too warm for my climate to wear often, I can't help but love the plaid coat with the pleats. I am envious of @pocketbook_pup!

Thank you PP! Yes, it was fantastic summer evening!
BTW do you feel some strange smell from the gray pleated dress from last winter? It has some faint but horrible smell.
The beige that I bought from the same season has this problem. The smell comes stronger when the dress is wet. I was going to the gym a couple of weeks ago and it was raining cats and dogs. The dress was all wet I put in the locker for an hour. When I went to pick up my clothes I felt this horrible smell, thought it was coming from someone sweaty, when I opened the locker I found out it was coming from my dress! [emoji15] so I washed it immediately and put it 2 times in conditioner, while it was drying the smell was still strong, after it was completely dry the smell disappeared. When I washed my gray dress it was the same. I wonder if it's coming from the chemical that they used for fixing the pleats.
Oh Ari, how awful. I didn't notice a smell like that but I don't remember getting it wet at all last year. I will wet it later and try it. I'm very curious now. I will let you know.
If you sweat a little the smell comes [emoji15]
Oh my. Not good. Maybe they want us to buy more perfume?
I can see why you are torn about the coat length. What length is your other beautiful coat with the knit sleeves? I had coats on my list as the next part of my wardrobe on which to concentrate so this is a good season for me. I might try to get the black coat as well as the navy/ black car coat. [emoji848]
[emoji23], wouldn't you consider the one with the leather trim, you tried? It looked very nice on you! How heavy was it? Can you wear it in the winter? Or maybe the blue/black comes in another color?
The black one Vanana posted is gorgeous! And it's practical. My coat with knitted sleeves is knee length.
It would have been perfect if it comes in beige!
Oh me too. I love that navy coat. My whole wardrobe is black and navy with a little white and grey. The one with the leather trim has the Gabrielle logo written across the leather belt. It wasn't to my taste. It is also much more expensive due to the leather details I think. It was mid weight. Maybe not quite as warm as my Max Mara coat.
I think the VP car coat will be about the same or a bit lighter judging by the jacket that I purchased in the same fabric.
I'm wondering how heavy the black one is. I love the cuffs. I think you should stick with your plan to get the longer coat since you have a knee length coat. It's very elegant and I feel like longer lengths are making a come back. I have my longer Max Mara so I might go for the knee length black coat.
I also tried this coat. The fabric is gorgeous. It's very heavy and warm (not a negative for me. I need warm) but the shape didn't work for me. The pockets really flared out at the hips.

And I don't mind having a lot of black and blue. I'd be happy with those colors alone in my wardrobe- maybe with some white thrown in for summer.
Oh me too. I love that navy coat. My whole wardrobe is black and navy with a little white and grey.
The dresses come both long or half sleeve. Black navy or burgundy. They are 80% wool and 20% synthetic.
Well I'll be envious of your weather in February. I console myself that New England is the perfect climate for heavy tweeds and cashmere shawls. The plaid coat would be a nice piece of outerwear for you. I don't think it's super popular so hopefully it makes it to the sale. My only concern was that my store only received two, whereas the they received at least 25-30 of the cream cosmopolite jackets.
Happy birthday Pigleto! You look lovely!I am agog. 25-30 ?!?!?!
The plaid jacket is a special piece! My store still has the 40 w the scarf. View attachment 3793267
I like ari's blouse. Could not pull that look off
Here's my birthday outfit. I wasn't sure the top goes w the skirt but it was nice to wear it out ! I think the silver of the shoes goes w the necklace ha ha.
