Definitely agree that jackets are running a touch on the big side

i went specifically to try on a few pairs of combat boots that my SA transferred in for me. They didn’t work. Next tried a double flap with black and silver camellia painted leather. Then I tried on a bunch of boucle and crocheted jackets which made me look short and somewhat wide. Finally, fell in love with a cruise denim jacket, about 4450 USD, size 36. I’m normally a chanel 40. My SA who is a stickler for fit actually said not to go up to a 38 and take it in bc it would be too big all over. Alteration time for current collection, even just a sleeve shortening, is 3 weeks, as theyre backed up. With Dior skirt, medium LD, golden goose sneakers. (brunello metallic black crew neck sweater as an under layer. the sun burst pattern is a softer white than the jacket I wore in (Dior houndstooth last two pic), so I think the chanel will be easier to wear. There is a CC logo in the center of the sun, but I’m okay with that. Somehow, I’m not getting the same level of excitement and certainty (that kindmof snick in your head when you know something works) about chanel shoes ans bags, so I might stick to a few pieces of RTW Plus H for bags.

Wow, that jacket looks stunning on you. Definitely more stylish than any pictures of it on the hanger alone. Congrats!

Love the jacket 880! I like this pattern, the only piece I saw was a pullover hoodie which was cute but I found it too difficult to get off and on. I love the jacket much more. Hope my store gets this, would love to try it

Brooklynite, the jacket looked like the runway on me. I am only 5'4" so I think they did shorten it a bit. Hits me mid thigh- no way it could work as a dress so I think they made a bit of adjustment on the length for store merch. This jacket rec'd a huge thumbs up from the younger SA's and they all said they would wear it with jeans/leggings/boots.

Thank you for your kind words @style_in_snapshots, @911snowball, @kipp, and @Brooklynite! I am betting that three weeks is a very optimistic estimate for alteration given how busy the boutique is. Post price increase, suddenly there are many more bags and accessories too.

@911snowball, am looking forward to your pics this weekend of the items you picked out!

OT, for anyone thinking of the Dior skirt; I love it, but it ran really large, is heavy and bunches up when you sit. So there is a bit of tufted mattress effect.

Definitely agree that jackets are running a touch on the big side. First, the pink with black trim, OMG what can I say. My SA could not rip off the plastic fast enough. You ladies know this is my color and this jacket is gorgeous and a classic one for the ages for sure.
Reserved my regular size 36 and it was big, my beloved seamstress and I were mentally altering it and when it is done it will be fantastic. Needs shoulder work, sleeve shortening and some other minor fixes but CHF off the charts for me on this one!

Also tried the KS/Sophia II- ran big in my size. Like Pigleto said, GORGEOUS fabric, the white lining so elegant and the buttons- all stunning. However, it was boxy and short on me and although it is VERY classic Chanel, I am unsure about this one for me primarily because of the fit.

I tried on the black jacket Look 8 WOW!! This one was a surprise. My SA conveniently placed this one in the dressing room and didn't say anything (I did not reserve it). I have learned this is her code for making a "suggestion" lol!. Ladies, the fit was AMAZING, took 20 years off my looks in an instant. Great narrow shoulders, slim sleeves gives a beautiful hourglass figure without being vulgar, just incredible. So, that was enough to pivot me away from the KS jacket. This jacket also comes with a collar version and in some different colors. Will decide which version but this is a keeper for me. Also looking forward to the shorter version of this (no fringe) and I suspect if the fit is as terrific as the long version I will get one of those too.

Some beautiful knits, I am getting a open stitch white cashmere with black trim (classic cardigan style) so lightweight, soft and COMFORTABLE. My store only had a bit to show me but I had about 4 SA's in the dressing room with me as it was the first try ons they had seen. It was so fun! However, I could not photograph. Going back this upcoming weekend for fittings and will take pictures then.
Hi,
Do you have a picture of the shorter version of #8?

I love the look 8 jacket - I’m not surprised that length is so flattering esp with the open neck and fitted silhouette. Look forward to the photos - but this one might be worth seeing in person methinks !

This is the stock NM photo of the cardigan. My store bought this style in the white (hits hip length) and the V- neck version (hits at waist) in black. I like the way the white shows the detail of the sweater so I went with the white (love those buttons!)View attachment 5244865
Gorgeous!! Do you recall the price on this one?

Another quick question - can knitwear like this cardigan be adjusted to fit better by Chanel?

Hanash, absolutely as periogirl had indicated, no problem to alter knits. I was prepared to do so on this white one if my size had not been available. At my store, only the 38 was not yet reserved. My SA went to work and was able to get the 36 sent. It is 4100 if I remember correctly. So soft, the shape does not look great on the hangar, but on the body it is lovely. Very classic and elegant.
