Excellent choice! I would like the black version but my store has ordered the white only. Will have to do a global search....

I'm hoping the white works for me. I could use more warmer weather options. But white is definitely tricky. The black will be classic and beautiful.

Update on my black navy skirt to match my jacket: it's going back. I don't feel as if I need the matched set. That's quite a break through for someone who always collects the set. It's beautiful but not love for me.

Ooooo I love these. It's so classic and Jackie O-inspired. Looks like wool which will make it a no-no for me ☹️

I think they are wool. The neck is pretty but could itch. Have a feeling they would be too short for me. My store is expecting them so of course I will have to try them.

I support you Pbp. With Chanel it has to be love :) ground control is here and in a couple of months Cruise will start to ship! And soon the spring runway show !!

I'm going in to try on this skirt again and my SA is getting the black version from the window for me to try.

I would love both but am stopping at one. I do have the black mermaid skirt and am leaning towards the cream but it's still hard to decide. Any thoughts?

It's gorgeous on you in cream! If your lifestye can handle a cream skirt I would get that one. If your budget allows both, the black is nice too. But a nice cream skirt is not easy to find and is so nice in a 'winter neutral' outfit.

All great pieces. I'd be tempted to get a bracelet length on the jacket. I always wonder if that's a thing to stay or just a fashion statement.
I like bracelet or even 3/4 length sleeves on me as they make me look skinnier and taller. But I may keep this one long sleeved as I want to wear as an outer wear jacket in fall. The back panel is quite thin though, so I may still need a sweater under it. The front is bulky due to the double breasting and the inner wool part of the lining. My pink/black jacket is very similar but even more airy due to the loose weave.

Pbp, good call on not keeping the skirt, since you didn't love it. I was going to ask what your DH thought of it. Have you tried the jacket with a above-the-knee flared skirt yet? That may be a flattering silhouette. I almost want to see it with a straight heavy tweed skirt that ends above the knee.

Or even a very narrow below-the-knee length (or shorter) skirt? That would mimic the runway look more, but more wearable for non-model heights.

Genie: I like it with these two skirts so far. Exactly as you suggested I think. Also over my new knit dress or with my longer pleated Hermes skirt. (I don't have photos of those two.). So I have plenty of options. And I'm trying to not overcrowd my closet with things that aren't perfect. I also prefer it over solid black or navy. Houndstooth head to toe is a bit overwhelming. Note: the pencil skirt is just above the knee. It looks longer in the photo.

I love the outfit.

Yes! That second skirt is perfect!!! I love the bare leg with both looks - now to convince you to wear a touch of something light/bright/sparkly by your face. :)

My SA showed me that it needs a crisp white blouse near the face to brighten it up. I tried the chanel ruffled blouse but I can't bring myself to pay $1850 for a cotton blouse knowing that even the best cotton blouse will age and yellow over time. So I'm looking for something similar but less expensive with a white stand up ruffled collar to peak above the neckline of the jacket. Baby steps. Thanks for your advice!

Oh, that would be perfect! I hope I didn't overstep - I see something come together in my mind, and then I want to see it, and in my eagerness, can be a bit bossy. (from telling people what to do all day, at work).

But I know certain looks are where we go automatically - I'm myself am stretching into pale neutrals territory and although some of you make it seem so effortless, I find it very tough.
