CHANEL REISSUE

Hi I am new to Chanel and I had just got my very 1st Chanel bag - Reissue 2.55 in 226 and I am very pleased with the purchase. Well, hopefully I did make a good choice as I was debating to get a classic flap or reissue.

I have a little favour to ask from all the Chanel lovers here. As you can see from the picture, my reissue is not perfect, it had a line on top near where the second flap located. Will it gone over time?

This is the only piece in store and I couldn't bear to let it go as I am looking for a black reissue.
Hope to hear some good advise here else I will really heart pain on the $$ spent.

Many thanks in advance!

There is only one rule of thumb for buying luxury items - if it bothers
you - exchange it. It may be the last one wherever You purchased it, but it’s not the last one in the entire Chanel system. It would definitely bother me. I only have one reissue to date, which I love by the way and it does not have that bend in the area your does, they do in general have bends higher near the grommets, as they ship flattened. HTH

I recently purchase my first reissue a couple days ago as well. If it bothers you that much, return it. But keep it mind, reissues are made with aged calfskin. Every stretch varies... which makes it unique. My bags are generally smooth leather and pebble leather, so the texture of the reissue is new to me as well. I'm battling with it myself sometimes, but the reason why I pick a reissue over classic flap because its an understated bag. I kind of like the fact I can't tell if it's purposing crease or crease from wears (unless the bag has been flatten).

Reissue love! I can’t believe it took me sooo any non reissue bags to determine how wonderful this bag really is!

Hi South Beach thank your for your kind words. Does this mean the bag have some crease line naturally but only at different area? Could it be because it is aged calfskin? I would think it will get more distressed over time.

Thanks Micheelleen, I am growing fond on her everyday (although I have not start to use her yet) and the crease is less and less bothering me now. I would think it will get more distressed over time too .

Need honest opinions please. I was never into the Chanel so black, but recently saw the chevron reissue aged calfskin (both 225 and 226) in so black and am in love. I already have an aged calfskin black quilted Reissue 226 GHW.
Would it be redundant to also have this bag in so black? If not, what size would you recommend.

I should add I don't have a classic flap. My heart lies with the reissues.

I like the so black look too! I don't think it's redundant since the hw will be different (black vs ghw) AND the design will be different (chevron vs quilted). If you're flexible on size the 225 will give you yet another difference. Finally, your personal preference for reissues seems genuine...if you were interested in a classic flap or a boy it would be different.

PS...I recently asked whether others on the forum have the medium classic flap black in both gold and silver hw. That is more of a redundant choice...but several members do have it and are happy with their decision. Hope that helps! By the way...is this the not too distressed aged calfskin?

I agree with Newbie2016. i think a 225 would also be a nice addition and give another difference from your 226. I think the two bags are very different.

Yes, its the not too distressed look which when I saw in pictures didn't really appeal to me, but IRL it looks amazing with the So Black hardware.

I may look at the 225 size since I do have a WOC and I can easily fit my things into it (except for my water bottle which I can't seem to leave the house without!).

Weighing in for another combo of sizing...

I bought a 226 so black chevron earlier this year, but I've found it a little small and formal for daily use. Nevertheless I love it too much , therefore I plan to get a 227 aged calfskin with RHW next year, which will suit me better in terms of sizing-proportion and for day-to-day use. First world problem huh?...ha ha ha

I’m the same. Got the 226 first and love it, but it’s a little small for everyday, so now I have two 227s. The larger size works much better for me!

How is the 226 crossbody? Are the chains shorter on it than the 225?
The 226 works crossbody on me and the only other Chanel I can wear crossbody is the WOC. I believe the 226 and 225 have the same chain length, although the 225 looks cuter worn crossbody as its a slightly smaller bag. I've even seen many people wear the 227 crossbody.
