Thank you! The one I'm looking at is in the aged gold, so hm...

This is my Reissue 227 with aged GHW. It’s from 2014, but I bought it pre-loved in 2017. It has the best, softest-feeling leather of all my Reissues (I have two others, both bought new in the boutique). The plate that has the turn lock on it may have some rubbing, but there are no scratches anywhere. I haven’t been careful with this bag. To me, this is how it’s supposed to look. Part of what I love about Reissues is they can be used and age and still look great.

My other two have Ruthenium HW and neither has any discernable wear. HTH!

Mine has an ark line from turning the lock, but no chipping or fading. It doesn't bother me at all. I wouldn't let this deter you from getting the bag. I absolutely love my 225 black reissue with ghw. I also love my reissue with ruthenium hardware and am not careful with either of these bags.
I really appreciate the response, thank you!

How do you feel about the size compared to the 226 and 225?

Both sizes hold my essentials. I prefer the 225 size for evening. I also prefer wearing the 225 crossbody Though the 226 looks fine as a crossbody as well. I prefer the 226 for daytime casual use. I actually bought my 225 new in London a couple years ago and then within a month bought my 226 preloved from fashionphile in excellent condition. I knew that I had fallen hard for the reissue soon after getting it so I wanted another in ruthenium hardware before prices increased. Anyway, I LOVE both sizes and both are forever bags for me. If I had to pick one though , I’d pick the 225 size. It works for every occasion.

Can someone recommend between mini and 225 size, which one is better?
Price wise I think the mini is better and still has the 4 grommets. I am confused which one to buy. I'll be buying just 1 though and not adding more, not possible to keep up with price increases every few months!!

How do you feel about the size compared to the 226 and 225?

I love the 227 for daytime. Recently for an appointment, I had all my usual stuff plus a Leuchtturm medium size notebook in there. So if you need capacity, go for the 227. I’ve downsized a lot since COVID, so I’m going to start using my 226 again. I don’t own a 225 and haven’t tried one in a long time, but for me the difference between the 225 and the 226 is, in a word, sunglasses. I wear large-ish, wraparound sunglasses and they fit easily in a 226, not so easily in a 225. Also, the smaller sizes are easier to wear crossbody. I don’t wear my 227s crossbody, but I like the look with the single strap over one shoulder. I’m 5’6 and can crossbody the 226, but it still feels a little short, TBH.

I’ve been jonesing for a So Black lately and will have to really think about whether to get a 226, which I know works for me, or a 225 for variety.

Thanks so much for the info. I love wearing my bags crossbody so reissues have always been tricky for me. (Strap drop is too short.) And anything smaller than the 226 looks too ridiculous and small on me. But there's something about the classic, understated style of the reissues that I really love, especially the ones with the RHW. I just wish they would come with a longer strap drop.

I’m the same. Love wearing bags crossbody but the strap is just a little too short. I have a reissue camera bag I sent off to Leather Surgeons to have the strap lengthened. They did a great job, you can’t see where the old chain leaves off and the new one begins. I keep thinking maybe I’ll do the same with my 226.

In the meantime, here is one of my all-time favorite Reissue photos. I don’t remember where it’s from, possibly this forum years ago. I just think the 227 looks so cool this way!F66BE1B0-AD9D-46EF-A713-533973CB00A0.jpeg.
