I’m my opinion, one of the beautiful parts of a Reissue is the chain strap - it has a lot of intricate details imprinted into the links that are missing in the “classic” strap with leather. Also, the original history of the 2.55/ Reissue is lost with the strap shown in the pic you posted. View attachment 4345597

Just picked this up today !

Oh my god, that’s gorgeous! I’ve been thinking about a black chevron Reissue myself, how do you find the leather on this? How is the bottom on it (I’m not too fond of the bowed/pointy base of the traditional Reissue)? Congratulations on your beautiful bag!

Thank you, loved the look. The leather is aged and non shiny, which is very different from previous years’ chevron. Sadly, I find the gold pretty but not fit into my estectic. So, I changed to 225 so black quilted aged calfskin.

Hm, sounds like I’ll have to make an effort to see the bag for myself then before I decide. Congrats on your SoBlack, they are gorgeous too! I love the 225 size, it’s my favourite size

This is the bottom of my last re-issue I purchased. The chevron pattern is unique and the base is not creased. It has a very slight bow which I remedied by adding a piece of cardboard I cut out to fit in the bottom. It appears pretty flat when viewed in real life.

Oh, wow, the leather looks yummy! I love the casual, distressed look of it and I prefer chevron to diamond quilts. But I just wish the gold hardware was shiny and not matte... but thanks to you I’m definitely going to check it out in store.

I am so crazy about this color combination, it is outstanding! The one thing I'm not so crazy about is that it's caviar as it would have been amazing in calf. Also, the linear stitching across the front flap and fastener (due to it being caviar, I'm assuming) is distracting.
