I finally been offered one in caviar with special stiching but the aged GHW makes it too loud for me and the leather itself was not in perfect condition (small scuff on the back pocket already). It’s 22xxx series. So I searched high and low for this bag in many countries but none made me happy, they were too crumpled to what I prefer until I saw this. I’d like a smoother one but it’s the best among what I’ve seen so far, puffier and smoother/less crumpled. I would love a soft caviar reissue, I hope Chanel will make it again in the future. Until then, I’m happy with this bag.

A question about 227, does anyone who has this size put an organizer or shaper? Do you think it’s necessary? I saw most of reissues especially this size have lost their shape after just a few years.

I tried to put my samorga organizer into the 227 (I purchased the organizer for my jumbo single flap) and for me, it just didn't seem to look or close right (perhaps I need to get more exact measurements for my 227?) I generally prefer a more structured bag so would be interested in finding out too!

Hello! I need some advice on the durability of grained calfskin vs aged calfskin. I'm trying to decide on an aged calfskin 225 vs a grained calfskin 225 in terms of durability, holding its shape, weight, flexibility, etc . Thanks for the advice!

I personally never like aged crumpled calfskin, as i feel like I really need to iron it to straightened it out. So i would go with grained calfskin, looks smooth & plump LOL!!

Newbie to reissue here—still learning. I’m comparing the 225 to the 226, GHW vs ruthenium. Seems like everywhere I look I only see GHW. Is ruthenium hard to get? I’m also trying to figure out sizing. Have the CF medium cause didn’t love the weight of the jumbo and how it looked on me. But the reissue 226 looks like it’s a bit smaller/lighter. Any suggestions for a newbie to the reissue?

The 226 is bigger than m/l and smaller than the jumbo while the 225 is a little bigger than the mini. The aged calfskin 225 and 226 are much lighter than caviar (though there are seasonal reissues in caviar sometimes). The larger is also more flexible so the aged calfskin bags can hold a bit more than CF. Hope this helps :)

I’m my opinion, one of the beautiful parts of a Reissue is the chain strap - it has a lot of intricate details imprinted into the links that are missing in the “classic” strap with leather. Also, the original history of the 2.55/ Reissue is lost with the strap shown in the pic you posted. 50091F45-0C31-4EE4-8C47-878FFBC8F9F2.jpeg
