Yes, I believe they will increase. Chanel wants to make pricing fair globally, unlike Louis Vuitton where it's so much cheaper in Europe to buy. US folks pay the lions share for their bags and it's unfair and a big turn off for me.

I do think the UK will get an increase unless the pound becomes much stronger soon. In fact if the euro or pound go down against the dollar, I think they will have to increase across Europe. With sales tax US consumers are paying several hundred dollars more now. Buying in Europe could easily save a US customer a $1000 per classic bag!

Chanel wants to even out their pricing globally.

Yes, I believe they will increase. Chanel wants to make pricing fair globally, unlike Louis Vuitton where it's so much cheaper in Europe to buy. US folks pay the lions share for their bags and it's unfair and a big turn off for me.

I agree...that's why I was actually a little surprised with the 8% or so increase in the US. The one thing I have noticed is that a large number of US customers (purseforum regulars might be the exception) don't even do the math or consider the fact that overseas is cheaper..many don't even know. Last summer a relative who on occasion buys luxury goods was traveling to the UK. I mentioned that she could save a ton by purchasing over there. However she said she is only comfortable buying in her own city back home in the US and just wanted to enjoy Europe. Interestingly, I don't think she's alone. Hence...Chanel and LV and Dior probably don't suffer too much by the discrepancy. If they felt large numbers of US customers holding back it might be different.

They do make the red and the blue (dark blue) in jumbo. I’ve seen the red on Instagram and i bought the dark blue jumbo at a boutique (no dept stores carried the blue in this size)...

I was surprised about it too. But if we had this quite large increase, believe Europe will follow. I don't know, my sister in law buys LV and refuses to buy them here. She waits in line in France (and yes there are big lines to get in the stores) to get the better price. By the way Saint Laurent just had a price increase as well.

I’m so sorry feel bad, they have a different department to handle the out of state purchases, I never knew that myself. As I was waiting I was telling my SA and she was willing to do it for you but then she mentioned the whole out of state protocol, but since you called before 6 they should’ve done it, wish you would’ve asked for a manager at the moment you called. I do feel badly it was crazy you would’ve thought they were giving Chanel’s away. I waited 2 hours!

I’m so sorry I wasn’t aware of the out of state protocol. Someone else on here contacted Hirshleifers, they are also out of state but they managed to get their dream plus saved taxes as well. So even though it went up if you’re outside of New York State then maybe you should still consider it because I’m pretty sure you have to pay tax if you buy it where you live. Since there is only a Hirshleifers in New York they don’t charge taxes if you’re outside of ny. Again I’m so sorry.
