Boutique SA texted me today to give me a heads up. I appreciate that she has been so kind to inform me. She mentioned that Cruise arrives starting the 7th and prices go up the following week, so get those Cruise classics before the price goes up, ladies!

The new price list doesn't have the "Small Timeless Classic" on it. I wonder if it has been discontinued or if the price just has not gone up? I hope it hasn't been discontinued. I have a small black ghw that I bought a year ago in London and it is one of my favorite bags. Great size and perfect evening, special occasion, going out bag.

I did some calculations...currently ( with the Europe price increase)the prices for classics (atleast medium, jumbo) are pretty close for the US and Europeans living in Europe. Of course American visitors to Europe can avail of the vat refund which helps drop the the price. I used the medium classic as an example: exchange rates as of 10/31/2017. Euro to usd is 1.16 and gbp to usd is 1.32

US price is $4900 (sales tax ranges from about 4 to 10%) so using an avg 7% total price would be ~$5243

Euro price is €4480 or $5213 for European residents

UK price is £3990 or $5273 for UK residents

US visitors to Europe can conservatively get back atleast 12% or a little over $600 back in VAT refund (of course you may have to pay some tax upon entry to the US though)

So my personal opinion is that maybe the increases will be closer to 5% then 10 if Chanel wants to harmonize prices across geographies. Otherwise unless Europe sees another increase or the dollar loses value..it will again become much more tempting to buy in Europe. A 10% increase would take that VAT refund figure into 4 figures or over $1000!

As a side note I think only Chanel has been trying to increase in Europe aggressively over the past year. I find that Dior and LV are still considerably cheaper in Europe.

Yes, I'm referring to the small classic flap which is somewhat difficult to find. Bigger than the mini but smaller than the m/l classic flap. I'm in the USA too and I was extremely lucky to find one when I was in the U.K. last year. I'm assuming they left it off the price increase list since it is not widely available.

I called my local store today, got nowhere then called another. I called an SA I knew from another store last year. We were chatting for a good 10 minutes and then he said the bags shipped 4 days ago. Long story short, he said he would pre sell on the 7th. He never mentioned the price increase until I brought it up. Unreal. It seem's they don't want to give up these new bags at the current price (especially the white I'm looking for which are rare). Then all of a sudden the phone went dead. I called back. The phone operator said he was with another client....it was a minute later. I asked if he could call me back, he never did.

So I called another store which was going to be my last call and she said they will be getting 2 ivory chevron jumbo's.
I said the price is $5,500 right? She said yes. I gave her my information, she will send pic's when the bag arrives and if I like it will ship. So we shall see. I now have one reserved, I'm done. I'm leaving it up to the "heavens"....:angel::-s
Why can't they just be up front for $400.00? I would respect it.:sad: Sorry for the rant.

Hmm I think they're not mentioning the increase since anything that sells before the 15th whether it's new stock or old stock will sell at the current prices. My NM SA just got one light beige jumbo in stock that she can ring for me on the 7th if I decide to purchase, so I don't thin they're trying to be shady! haha

The Lt. beige color is gorgeous BTW!! Wish it came in gold hardware would get it in a hearbeat. The one i ordered from said they got shoes and SLG's so far like the rest of them. It's really hard to find a nice SA I'll tell you - LOL!!:smile: Oh boy that chevron better not have any creases or dents, but it does sound so pretty. It is "light gold hardware". Seems like the only one getting chevron beige and black calfskin maxi's will be Saks. Not at boutiques. Might wait list that too if I'm not fond of the ivory. wonder what the beige color will be!?
