I totally get your point... In Euro prices it's pretty the same: M/L flap is 4260 Euros, Mini (rectangular) is 2490 which is a difference of 1770 Euros, small boy is 3420 Euros and new medium is 4150 which makes "only" 730 Euros difference... and since the Mini is so high in demand, Chanel knows there will be still clients who will pay the price even after an increase of 10%

damn, this increase will really hurt :sad:

It will be an ugly one for sure. I think minis in the neighborhood of $3500+ US are in the near future. I just read an article discussing how the luxury brand strategy of luring customers with bag charms and mini bags at "lower" price points is backfiring and the brand "prestige" being diluted as a result. These customers are not "graduating" to larger purchases like the luxury brands planned on so expect to see availability of entry level products becoming more limited and prices moving upward.

That's is ridiculous. I / we love mini because of the style, has nothing to do with the price!
For me, I can't stand big bag for Chanel. It's not very lady like and lose its original design in my opinion. But hey, everyone are different.

Here in the U.K., we had 4 price increase last year, that has not stop people buying them. Chanel will continue to do so. The bag is only worth how much people are willing to pay. To be honest, like Hermes, the more expensive they are, the more people would want them.

Yes. Chanel can, will, and has changed pricing on prior, current, and announced collections when a price increase occurs. So if there is a hypothetical price increase in June, the new bags will ship with the higher pricing on the tags regardless of what the preorder list or book said. Also, any existing inventory will reflect the price increase which means any remaining bags from previous seasons will increase in price as well.
