"Currently, the price gap is large enough for a Chinese shopper to justify the trip to Europe. The price in China for the Chanel classic 11.12 bag is 38,200 yuan ($6,095), or about 63% higher than the €3,550 ($3,750) price a shopper pays in Paris for the same bag. Meanwhile, the same bag was recently selling for 31,000 yuan by one trader on Taobao."

"Chanel’s new prices will significantly narrow the gap. The company said that the bag is set to rise 20% to €4,260 under the new policy. The ticket for the same bag in China is set to fall 21% to around 30,000 yuan. Prices will also decline in Hong Kong, Korea, Vietnam and Russia. Meanwhile, the price in the U.S. will remain unchanged at $4,900."

Lame. We are most expensive place to buy! I never realized this till this happened part

U.S. Has been the the third cheapest country to buy chanel over the years. Other countries has been paying $1000-$2000 extra on top.

I'm not so sure that the US was third. France was cheaper, Italy was cheaper, Spain was cheaper, Germany was cheaper, etc. for pretty much all of Europe. Now that the prices are being "normalized," the US is going to end up highest for sure, even though prices will be going up in Europe.

Plus, the US gets less variation, such as those fuchsia patent ballerina shoes last year, and the quilted burgundy shoes this year and other items. Darn you, Karl & Co.

Europe, England and US.
Australia m/l class cost $6900 and hardly get stocks/Colours US gets and we don't get espridrilles in. It is pretty sad.

now buying in Asia is a lot cheaper than in US, if they can reduce prices in Asia Chanel that's means they can reduce US price in any time too, that makes me feel now my Chanel can't keep their value at all, keep increasing price crazy before then now reduce price like crazy so sick

Yes agree Lala06..I know the effect might be temporary, but by reducing their price I feel that the brand is not consistent. I have to re think of buying Chanel in the future . I might have to shift to another brand. By reducing their price, people who think they buy their Chanel bags as investment, can now for go the idea.

Chanel will never decrease prices in the US; you can take that to the bank as a certainty.

I am not convinced US is third.

CAD has been weakening so I know Canada is higher than US..and Japan and U.S. Prices are not much difference until yen started to fall and US continue to rise!

And I have to second Tutu....even Canada and Mexico have more variety!!! Mexico used to be cheaper than US until this year's price increase [emoji33]
