Chanel Price Increase *please include location*

But if the prices are harmonized after price increase in Europe and that is the goal...shouldn't US prices stay the same so they stay aligned? If Chanel pushes up US prices after price increase in Europe.. Europe will become attractive again

I think that what one of my SAs meant (and maybe georgiegirl's SA in the Uk meant) is that after the prices are harmonized, they are going up. My SA said that prices in the U.S. are going up in a month or two. Nothing is confirmed ....but...

However, these same SAs had no clue about this massive alignment which included decreases in many parts of the world that corporate must have been planning for quite some time and is happening right now!

Its so interesting that some SAs seem to know about a fall increase that is supposedly happening months from now. However, these same SAs had no clue about this massive alignment which included decreases in many parts of the world that corporate must have been planning for quite some time and is happening right now!

Who knows! I'm getting my bag pre sold the end of this week. Not sure what will happen. They probably weren't making what they needed to in Europe w the euro weakening so this had to happen. Also maybe to keep the Asian buyers buying in their area. They will probably watch their profits and then determine what and when will change based on how the market is doing.

I'm sure if it did they will adjust it for us. Or you can return and rebuy. That's what is happening in Asia.

Your r right..The price now is cheaper in Singapore than USA.. Approx usd4800 inclusive of tax.

Even by reducing the prices in Asia, if you take the Tax free option in Europe/ UK it will still be MUCH cheaper to buy Chanel there instead of in China, Australia etc.I wonder if other luxury brands will do the same eventually or if they will wait and see how this affects Chanel in the mid term?

I think the stores in the UK and France will still be busy because usually people don't just visit cities to buy handbags from one brand... I know where I would prefer to say I get my Chanel from...

Calflu, I agree with you. With the current exchange rate, it is most expensive to buy in US with the reduced Asia prices and the higher prices in Europe, so it defeats the purpose of aligning the priced globally with a price increase.
