Yes that's it---I noticed as soon as I unboxed it, maybe because none of my other minis had this issue. I could go on about what went on to get this bag, but I think I've hijacked this thread enough, lol. The return period is almost over, so if I decide to keep it I'll post my own separate storytime.

Bag twins!I also got the 21a white medium cf. It is really elegant and can definitely be dressed down as well if needed in my opinion. I don't use it as a daily bag though, and I've only taken her out once so far. But I have been taking the bag out just to look at it pretty much every day lolI really like the light gold hardware and both the white leather and hardware color actually have a very slight pink beige tone to them under the right lighting. I totally understand and would be unhappy as well. I’ve returned quite a few bags over the past 3 years and Chanel‘s lack of precision and quality control doesn’t surprise me anymore. The bags should be priced half, if not even less. I feel with increasing prices we have just become more demanding (as we should when paying more for the same item) than we used to be when these bags were in the 1000-2000 range.
It shouldn’t be chipped to begin with, but a regular fading out of the black coating. I only ever noticed when storing the bag (when the chain links moved to irregular angles). I don’t know how well the current black coating will wear, though, and have only had luck with a 2017 sheepskin Reissue that hasn’t had any issues at all. Crossing fingers yours will hold up, in case you decide to keep it

The last item I got from 21A. This season hit me the hardest. I bought two bags in one day luckily before price increases and had a giftcard so paid a bit less too. Got them beginning of July. LOVE THE RED
21A Light Brown caviar mcf and 21A Light Grey 19 bag ... this season definitely hit me hard. First lambskin and first 19 bag from Chanel ... Love the light grey, how soft the lambskin feels and how comfortable it is to wear the bag crossbody. Thanks for letting me share!
