Thanks - what does the white sweetheart look like? I’d most likely struggle to get one now anyway I’m guessing since it’s been so long since 23P launch.

I saw no white minis in 23S sadly.

Haha I mean I’d LOVE a white mini flap in white caviar but I know there’s no chance of that so it’ll have to be the lamb! Would you advise against it?!

It looks like a mini but the chain is adjustable and all metal. It’s quite cute.

White lamb is so just so delicate and will show literally any wear or abrasion. I have a white caviar woc and using it makes me nervous. I would always joke with my friend that when you saw someone with a white lamb chanel you knew they were loaded because they could buy a “throw-away” bag! If you have a monstrous collection and just love the idea of a white regular mini then sure go for it, but if you don’t that would not be the bag I would personally add. I would go for the sweetheart, something in caviar, or another brand that would be less expensive for such a delicate bag.

Ah okay thanks for the advice which I really appreciate. I don’t have a monstrous Chanel collection at all (only a few bags), I’m definitely not loaded (sadly) and I would never want a throw away bag. I love the look of the minis and white bags generally across all brands but I will now consider the WOC or another brand instead - especially after this price increase since I won’t pay that much for a bag in lamb that will get so easily ruined

You might be able to track one down but yeah it looks like it may have gone up 400 or so. Can I recommend the ysl Kate in white grained leather? It’s imo gorgeous and a more palatable price. Plus insanely durable

So the white Chanel WOC I have is very nice. I bought it from mytinelesslyxuries around when lockdown first started in 2020 if memory serves. It was brand new in box never used and under retail (at the time) so low 2000s with no tax (full set). At that price it absolutely made sense! It’s a lovely bag. Having said that, I use it maybe twice a year and over all I don’t reach for my wocs that much. I tend to reach for roomier bags. I’m not a minimalist. I think the Kate medium is a more practical size. It’s hard for me to want to pay close to 4k after tax for a woc. But everybody is different. And the Chanel aesthetic is hard to beat. Also, without looking I think part of the inside of my white woc is fabric and that’s a whole nother level of stress right there ;)

I'm very interested in purchasing pieces from this collection... One SA in NYC told me they had already closed orders for that last week, is that how it works? I have only just started buying chanel (already have buying history in the US, but not in my home country UK). Would be very glad for any pointers

Maybe she means reservations? Now you just have to show up and hope you get what you want

I see, and with reservations you have to buy? Or just to make sure it's available in your size?

I wear a larger size and would have loved to make reservations... Is a bit frustrating because the week before I went by the DC shop and when I mentioned the Dakar collection,nobody explained that to me.

No, you don’t have to buy. But it is reserved for you so as soon as it comes in, they will let you know and usually just charge your credit card. Unless you tell them no or you could always return it if it doesn’t work out.

Well, every store does it differently, so the DC store may not do reservations at all. You just don’t know because nothing is consistent.

ah I see, shops are very disconnected from each other. Do you think another shop would be able to still take reservations?

Reserves for 23A took place in December. It is invite only, and I think I saw on some other threads that you have to be VIC, not even elite is invited anymore.

Rumor of Chanel’s new policy on reserving bags

It's not 2 bags a year, it's still 12. Just 2 CLASSICS per year...IMO they are making the classic bag similar to an Hermes quota bag...something pined and sought after and only avail to those w/ status & who purchase across the brand...seasonal bags will be more readily available. The focus here...
