Hi,
We have a lot new restrictions for reserve , start from 22A
It’s only 2 classic per year
( Timeless classic double flap , 2.55 , and all Mini )
Plus reserve is open for Client w level Elite + and higher.
Unfortunately I can not place order green Mini classic for you because you purchase 2 classic bags already ( brown mini and pink medium )
I can add you on any other fashion bags.

Do you know if it’s only classics we have to buy in person in store now or is it all bags? Thanks!

Wow! So they are back dating the newly imposed limits?!

When I started buying again last year I said I’d only buy 2 bags a year. I guess Chanel is forcing me to keep my word :annoyed:

I’m honestly not sure if I’m able to reserve or not going forward. I’ve only bought two bags this year, not classics or minis. I’ve been mainly buying shoes, rtw and earrings lately. Just recently reserved the yellow cch before the new limits started. This will at least make me be super selective with my cf purchases. I’m still on the fence about mini’s but this may push me off.

This is sad news. What if I ask a friend who isn’t interested in Chanel bags to get a cf or mini, for me? (I’ll pay for it of course:P)

Horrible strategy for exactly this reason. They tease and aren't forthcoming or transparent about what colors/ leathers are produced each season. It's a risk to bet it all on a color that turns our horribly (as happens so often) or not get a color that turns out way better than expected (the occasional good chanel surprise). Why not just do SO like Hermes??? Let us pick what we want! Talk about sustainability & client relationships & reduction of resellers....this would work so much better. And, we wouldn't regret wasting our lottery (!) picks on things we weren't 1000000% excited about.
I don’t think Chanel would go to the SO route because all cf, 2.55, minis, unlike Hermes, are not all handmade (not sure if there’s any).

The classic bags’ quality has been dropping, prices have been rising, and they wanna match the Hermès path? Really? Hermes has the notorious policy of requiring purchase history and limit 2 per year, but at least they provide hand-made, high quality, and eternal spa service. The leather quality is the best on the market, and one can always return or exchange a bag that has defects, even if it’s minor; whereas Chanel simply tells you “it’s not defect”.

Yes, I am aware & have all the birkins I could ever want in 5 lifetimes! I appreciate Hermes' attention to craftsmanship, aftercare, predictability when ordering an SO, a great menu of colors and skins, etc. I do. I really love that about Hermes. BUT, Hermes is not Chanel. Hermes isn't a fashion house as much as a leather goods/ equestrian house. The 2 brands aren't in the same category b/c their histories do not align w/ their target audiences, inception, etc. Chanel is a fashion house that HAPPENS to make leather goods, leather goods were never the focal point (or intended on being) for Chanel, whereas Hermes is the opposite, they just HAPPEN to have RTW. I really only have birkins from Hermes these days b/c everything else, to me, is dowdy and boring. Quality? Sure! But, again to me, a total snooze fest. This is the reason I could never make the switch to 100% Hermes, because Chanel is fashion, Hermes is not.

LV, Dior, Gucci, etc have bespoke & MTO services, I don't see a reason why Chanel could not?

I agree that Chanel and Hermes are different and not to replace one another. The reason I think Chanel won't provide any made-to-order is because it takes more time and higher cost from Chanel. Based on the actions Chanel has taken in recent years, 1) price increase way faster than any other brands 2) the quality dropping very obviously, even on classic bags, Chanel definitely has no intention of increasing its cost and do SO bags. Chanel has couture for clothing, but I don't think Chanel is gonna extend this service to its bags.

I don’t either. They should but they won’t. Suuuuuuch a missed opportunity IMHO. They are the epitome of “buy me cuz I say Chanel on me” … not for craftsmanship or quality. I have a hard time with their RTW now even, it’s not high end at all anymore. And ridiculously expensive for… polyester. I think they are going about all of this the wrong way. But hey, who am I? ;)

I never quite understood their use of imitation pearls on their costume jewelry pieces. Cultured pearls are not that expensive and would make pieces look so much classier...
