Yes. I already bought 1 classic, 1 mini this year. So no more classic (cf, minis, 2.55) this year.

I was wondering how they were going to do this. So any of us who have purchased 2 or more classics already this year are not allowed to buy any more until 2023. Sounds like they are going by calendar year

Tried to reserve the burgundy one a week ago but they were already all reserved in every size. The grey one was available though.

You never know who's going to pass on their reserves. Much of the RTW is reserved during the buys which are months ahead. Once the items deliver, it's not uncommon for people to pass because the item isn't what they imagined, they preferred other items they reserved, their budget was spent elsewhere or simply don't want it. Also since the pandemic started, more people are having items shipped to their homes to try, so sometimes an item becomes available when the items are shipped back to the boutique. Hopefully you're on a reserve list in case the items becomes available, it could easily happen!

Definitely. Let your SA know you're still interested in case people pass. You just never know! I reserved some RTW pieces from 22S but ended up passing and bought other ones I hadn't reserved instead.

So good news is that this means plenty of stock for those that can't reserve and have to come to the boutique to shop. Most on this forum (me definitely) I'm sure have already bought 2 or more classics and/or minis this year.

I totally agree, and I mentioned on another thread… It’s similar to the Hermès quota system but the difference is that with Hermès they have a constant color library with only occasional new colors being introduced so when you submit your wish list you know what they have and exactly what you’re wishing for. Chanel always surprises us each season and we never know what they are getting until right before launch so how will you know if you’ve already gotten the best for the year? I just think this is going to strengthen resellers because if I got a pink for example that wasn’t the exact perfect shade and then a better pink came along I wouldn’t be able to buy it unless I went through a reseller. I know they’re trying to curb resellers but I think this is just going to help them once again.

I agree. This new policy will only HELP resellers earn more $ than ever before if Chanel is going after Hermes' model.

Horrible strategy for exactly this reason. They tease and aren't forthcoming or transparent about what colors/ leathers are produced each season. It's a risk to bet it all on a color that turns our horribly (as happens so often) or not get a color that turns out way better than expected (the occasional good chanel surprise). Why not just do SO like Hermes??? Let us pick what we want! Talk about sustainability & client relationships & reduction of resellers....this would work so much better. And, we wouldn't regret wasting our lottery (!) picks on things we weren't 1000000% excited about.

Omg yes. There have been chanel combinations I’ve dreamt about for YEARS that have never been produced. That would be such a better route! And relationship building and reduction of materials and waste. Brilliant!

I might have the date wrong, but Chanel hasn't had a rectangular or square mini flap in caviar since 2018. They are now only available in lambskin. When the mini with a top handle first came out a few years ago, there were a few in caviar but even since then, only in lambskin.

Some boutiques are not receiving the iridescent calfskin. The boutique I regularly shop in is not receiving iridescent calfskin minis
