Chanel inside Bloomingdales return/exchange policy?

Hey Everyone,
I purchased my first chanel maxi flap bag in 2010 at bloomingdales. It was the old version (single flap) and I haven't worn it and it still has tags on it, since I never had the time to carry it (been busy). Brand new. Never touched or anything. Now the problem is that I know the new version of it came out with the double flap for the maxi and I saw it and loved it even more than the single flap version. Now the problem is that it's been about a year since I got the single flap version.
I would like to exchange it for the double flap. Problem: Do I need to pay a price difference? It is the same bag just upgraded.
Or Should i return it for store credit? I think for store credit, you get the amount based on the current selling price and since the current selling price for the chanel maxi black caviar is about 4500+, i was thinking of using the store credit to just get the newer version. If I get the store credit based on the current selling price, I will not need to pay a price difference I think?
ANY HELP IS APPRECIATED!!! I'm trying to get around without paying the price difference haha
The price I paid in 2010 is way more affordable than now! Hope you guys understand and thank you for reading this

bloomies puts a sticker on all their merchandise - as far as i know you will get a credit for that sticker price ~ whatever you paid for the bag...i've never tried to exchange a Chanel so i cant say for sure but i doubt they will give you the $4700 bag for the $3700 you may have paid...it doesnt hurt to try! good luck!

there is no limit on return's date at Bloomingdales
Really? Remind me not to buy any Chanel at Bloomies then. I don't want anyone's returned after a year bag...
No time limit on returns? Seriously, I will never buy in bloomingdales in that case. I don't want to pay premium dollars on used stuff.
