Just to share my awesome bag hunting experience in Italy on this few day. Plan to start my journey with Chanel last year but no fate with local SA (always no stock and need to build up portfolio etc). Followed my hubby on his business trip to Italy for about 10 days and found out indeed this is the best bag hunting journey in my life!
We didn't have a chance to visit Chanel in Milan as there is a very long queue (basically >1.5 hour waiting) when we passed by the shop on first day and also, read from the reviews that the SA tends to be "cold" towards tourists.
We then visit Turin, a city that is an hour away from Milan by high speed train. After check-in hotel, we walked around the city center and happened to found the Chanel shop with no queue outside and only one customer inside the shop! We walked in, met a very nice guy who is very very very handsome and friendly, with charming smile, politely asked me if I am looking for any particular item? I was a bit hesitate to ask directly for cf because I know normally cf is not always available and most of the time will be reserved for VIP. My hubby start to chat with the SA on our holiday and then saying we are actually looking to buy the first Chanel bag and if there is any cf available currently in the store. The SA gave us a big smile and guided us to one sofa to sit, served us the sparkling water, and then the magic starts. He went inside and came out with small and medium cf, both caviar and lambskin, ghw and shw. I was stunned at that moment because this is the first time I saw a full line cf in front of me, as local SA always told me no stock and not even a display unit to touch! He asked me to try all the bags, explained to me the material and the pros and cons of different material, purpose of use and etc. He even took out whole collection of WOC with different color, including classic, for me to try. Unfortunately, he told us that the mini cf is not available and the waiting list for local is approximately 6 months and about 40 pax in waiting. We spent two hours there and I walked out happily with a medium cf of lambskin and ghw. I couldn't decide whether to take the classic WOC, or the long or small cf wallet he offered to me. The SA told me to think about it and do come back anytime if I change my mind.
The third day in Turin, we went back to the shop and the handsome SA was off! Another very very (the first one still is no 1 in my heart) handsome SA talked to us and again, took out all the WOC from the cabinet for me to try, and also other new collection that just arrive in the stock such as Chanel 19 and small Flap Bag with handle. I then asked for chanel 22 mini, but black is not available, he was kind to offer me the green, caramel brown and light brown. I only wanted black and have to say sorry. When we almost decided we will leave with empty hand, the SA said wait for a moment, I will show you a special piece for your consideration. He took out a 2.55 So Black! Saying arrived on that morning, 2 units only, and 1 already reserved for local VIP. In the end, I walked out with the bag without second thoughts!! Completely awesome experience!! SA even told us if we happened to visit back to Italy next time, we could inform him early and see if he could do something with the Chanel 22 or mini cf or any other collections.
P/S: we visited Hermes store as well, on first visit, the lady SA told us no stock for any kind of bags. After some friendly chatting and sharing, she eventually told us to come back next few days, if we are still in Turin, and see if she will have things to of us. Let's see tomorrow if I will have luck with Hermes (looking at picotin, lindy, and maybe evelyne). Forgot to say that she actually took out a constance elan crocodiles in Bourgogne and a Kelly to go Bleu for my consideration after I bought a bearn card holder in gold

Just an update, got the picotin 18 in green clemence and palladium from Hermes just now .
