Hello Ladies,
I’m visiting Singapore next month and planning to go to both Chanel Boutique in Taka and MBS. I have few questions in regards to Chanel in Singapore as I come from overseas. Anybody can help answering my queries, I really appreciate it. Thank you so much in advance.
1. How difficult is it to get a black classic mini rectangle in Singapore? Do the SAs only give it to their local VVIP clients or a walk-in tourist can also possible to get it?
2. Is it very difficult to get black bags in Singapore generally?
3. Which store has better inventory and service? Taka or MBS?
4. In terms of new collection arrival, how quick do the Singapore boutiques receive them? Is it similar or shortly after the arrival in European stores?
5. Does anybody know which days are usually the better days to visit the boutiques? I mean the days when the regular shipments of new stocks arrive and fewer customers in the boutique?
6. For tax refund in Chanel Singapore, do they deduct the GST straight in the stores or I have to claim it in Changi before departure?
Thank you so much Ladies.
First of all, I would like to warmly welcome you to our little sunny island and hope you'll enjoy your visit here! I saw that your questions haven't been answered. I'm a local so I'll share my experience as someone who isn't a VIP but have been shopping with my current SA frequently for the past 3 years.
1. Extremely difficult and depends on your luck. As what I know, it's usually will be offered to VVIP. It's not only black, other seasonal colours of the classic minis are close to impossible to get. Non-black seasonal minis, e.g. top handle, may be easier to get.
2. My SA constantly asked if I'm interested to add a medium cf (caviar + shw/ghw), 19 or boy bags in black (the only black bags I have are jumbo caviar/ghw cf and medium coco handle). But whenever I visit my SA at MBS, I always hear other SA telling clients no stock when they asked for black cf. For seasonal black bags, generally easier to get.
3. Inventory-wise, my SA said Taka receives more stocks than MBS. A few of the bags I got, those were transferred from Taka to my SA at MBS. Service-wise, I prefer MBS.
4. Singapore is usually about 2 weeks behind. Most of the time, bags are for display only during launch day/week.
5. Unpredictable, the boutique get their stocks in very small batches frequently. But sharing with you what my SA advice me if I want to try my luck getting the item she couldn't get me - visit the boutique at opening time.
6. Being a local, I honestly not sure about this. Sorry!
Well, I hope it helps!
