I have purple bag and don't ever wear it because it does not match anything. I have tried you can only wear black.

I also saw someone wearing a blue classic
flap with jeans
and I was surprised to find it looked horrible and I was thinking
that maybe colored bags don't look
as good styled.
Any thoughts on this?

Pink seems to match better. I don't even own pink clothing but maybe it is closer to a neutral?
Agreed. This was the main reason I didn't go for the rose gold/copper reissue mini: while it's very pretty and eye-catching, for me it would just sit on my shelf since it doesn't go with anything in my closet.
I agree. I think true purple seems to be much harder to match than pink. My 21s iridescent pink has a lavender/lilac undertone but it goes with pretty much everything since it’s still a light pink bag
Years ago I had a deep purple coach bag that went with Everything! I wore it in fall/winter. Used plum lipsticks & had plum/darker purple nails. Also wore a amethyst cocktail ring/pendant. And had a printed silk scarf & a winter scarf with that shade of purple (both went great with my winter coats & my trench coats). All of this sounds super planned but at the time, it was spontaneous. I was on a purple kick & just happened to have a lot of purple in my wardrobe at the time.(cream, navy, & grey looked great with my purple). And you can match pinks to purple if you match intensity. (Pale pink+ lavender OR hot pink + royal purple). And when in doubt, think about the colors occurring in nature. (Think of winter twilight with a soft purple sky tinged with a pink glow. The edges of the sky are shades of blue with grey shadows). If Mother Nature paints with these colors together, then it will look lovely.
Lavender has been in fashion for a few years now. If you love lavender, check out your wardrobe & see if you have the accent pieces in your wardrobe. Check your favorite shoe sites. (Do they have lots of sandals or shoes that coordinate with a lavender bag? Same tone)?
If you absolutely love a color, you probably look pretty good in that color so it’s not a bad way to pick up a theme for your wardrobe.
Kept debating if I needed the iridescent purple or not so I reserved both iridescent pink and iridescent purple. Can’t wait for the bags to hit the store. September, hurry come 
Agreed with @Ruby5. I think purple looks classy with grey, navy blue, cream.

According to Chanel customer service, only the large is available. I spoke to my SA (boutique) earlier this week, as I was looking for the medium and he said they aren’t getting any for the remainder of 2021. I spoke to another SA (different boutique) and she said they get a couple smalls here and there every few weeks. The Gabrielle is a part of the revolving collection but depending on the size you’re looking for, you’re going to have to hunt one down or go pre-loved.
