So I have had the same response regarding patent versus caviar from a friend as well. Is there a reason that the general consensus is to not buy a medium bag in patent leather? Is it just not considered as classic? Is it generally thought of as cheap looking? Or less sturdy material?

I think it could be considered kind of flashy on a larger surface like whoa that’s a lot of shine. Like patent heels or ankle boots are cute but OTK patent boots - that’s a lot to take in. Patent is better in smaller doses to me. Caviar is probably considered more classic for that size of a bag. But everyone likes different things and the world would be boring if not so you should get what appeals to you more.

Thank you! I am truly interested in the input of you more experienced Chanel aficionados. I really love both versions of this bag so much I need a little push one way or another. I kind of always wanted a patent leather Chanel but I see the point of that being better in a smaller bag! Also the color alone is sort of a flashy or frivolous thing compared to a classic color.

I tried on the medium I think the quilt is not puffy to my liking. Not sure about other sizes. but I like the shine of the 20c grey

OMG ok I saw a patent blue WOC and the color is so cute!! If the ML is the less green version of the caviar blue I vote for the patent! it looks like a nice baby blue vs tiffany blue.
