Absolutely agree!!! Grain doesn’t bother me and quite frankly the 17c caviar is not everyone’s cup of tea but it’s a deep black and sort of shimmery iridescent and shiny. The photo of the 18c looks like a translucent milky matte plastic filmy look to it (sorry don’t really know how best to describe except it looked plastic like! I’ve been shown a few jumbos in the past that had similar look and they were hard passes for sure!

BG Nordies and Bloomies NYC getting light blue, burgundy and black IRIDESCENT caviar. Boutiques are getting green iridescent caviar. Hope this helps! (Not to be confused with dark blue, light blue or dark green regular caviar which are also coming).
Wow, this looks so light, almost like a dark ivory or a very, very off-white. I'm not sure what I think. I'm on the list for the mini but I'm not sure if I like it and if it is different enough from my 17C white mini, that is basically vanilla white.
I felt the same as well coupled with the fact that I had imagined a more beige clair version. I am loving the edge stitching because all of my other minis don't have this feature. They also tend to be slightly taller and wider from pics that have been posted. Hopefully it'll surprise us like the navy and dark red from 17B which I would have passed on had I not had it in my hands.
I completely agree with you on the shade being more of a ivory or pearlescent tone. Oh gosh your white mini sounds divine by the way.

This is what the grey looked like for me. I was never so let down. The bag was dull, fall and had no luxury at all. I love grey and the leather felt and looked like plastic.

I do like the edge stitching very much! I guess I will wait and see a few more pics before rushing to judge the color. I can imagine that it is a difficult color to capture. I think I was also expecting something closer to beige clair.
And, the 17C white rectangular mini is grand! I love it. It's a vanilla white with soft gold hardware. It works year round. I know some people wanted a bright white with traditional gold hardware but I really like the off white instead.

Agreed! I am having the same situation where I got the white mini from last year’s cruise and fell in love with the edge-stitching, so I was looking forward to a beige Clair mini from this year’s cruise with the same element...but now I think the beige in the picture is way too light and a bit similar to my white mini then...
feels like I lost my excitement all of a sudden...
