I'm quite short (only 5'1), so the strap that comes with the Alma was too long for me, even crossbody. I got the bandouliere strap in mono/red and loved it for the comfort and shoulder carry length.
The strap of the BA (mine is the small) fits me perfectly as a shoulder & crossbody bag.
The super smooth bottom of the Alma freaks me out alil. If price is not a huge consideration (no offence, but the price difference is really something!), I would go for the BA in a heartbeat.

Do you find that it's hard to close the flap at all, like if you fill the bag up even to normal capacity?

I got my mini today. I love how cute the size is and it arrived perfectly.

But does anyone have trouble closing the flap when the bag is filled? Not overstuffed, but just filled to capacity. It's sort of tight to clasp it shut, like I have to stretch the flap a little to get the turn lock in the hole... if that even makes sense.

Anyway, here she is:

Hi, without the mini pochette it does close easier, although I won't say that alot of effort is required with the pochette.
I would still have my zippy cardholder, cles, 6-key pouch, mini notebook & my mobile in the main compartment. Bag can be closed with no issue.

Ok, thanks for your response! I played around with it a little and I think the initial problem was an awkwardly shaped pouch that I put in there. I re-arranged it and it's easier to close now. I love it so much, I already took it out today when I had to run a quick errand.

P.s. Yay!!! We're bag twins! :flowers::p

Thank you for the bday wishes, so sweet of you! I do LOVE this style, and have to agree with you (from your other thread) that it's underrated. I love this little mini size, it's just so cute and light weight. I'm loving mini bags more and more. Congrats on your beauty as well and I hope you enjoy her!! :flowers::heart:

Thank you! I think because of how small it is, any awkwardly shaped objects that are bulky will right away cause it to be difficult to close. I thought I was bugging for a minute, but I think it's just the nature of the mini size... and I'm certainly ok with it too!

I know this thread has been almost a month old but would like to bring it back to life - for those who own the bag, how do you usually wear it? As a crossbody, on one shoulder, or as a handbag?

I went to the boutique earlier and fell in love with the pale pink immediately. I am struggling to decide whether to go for the small or the medium, though.

I am quite petite (5") and the small slings really nicely crossbody & on one shoulder. But it doesn't quite hold all of my essentials unless I change to a smaller wallet and be very strategic in what I bring with me.

The medium, on the other hand, fits my big wallet & other items, but does not work as a shoulder bag; the strap is way too long for my height. It looks fine as a crossbody (though does not look as perfectly as the small - but without the small as a benchmark you will never know), and very cute held in the hand.

The SA told me they would get the BA backpack in the same colour in a few days, so I will go back to take a look at that as well before making a final verdict. But I am 90% certain I will want a BA handbag - still debating whether to get the small (looks best against my frame and size and can be worn in all 3 ways, but will have to be a special occasion bag) vs. the medium (cannot be worn as a shoulder bag but more carefree & can but a semi-daily bag).

Your opinions are appreciated!

I’m 5’2” and I love my small BA, I can fit all my essentials easily to this bag (I’m a mini bag person), but if you usually carry a lot of stuff I think medium will fit you better, you don’t want ended up buying something that you’ll never use. Most of the time I use my BA as a crossbody bag, but sometimes I also use it as a shoulder bag or top handle bag. ( for me BA is my favourite Chanel bag that can be worn in all 3 ways). Good luck deciding!

I tried both the small and medium BA (in pink) and loved both. I actually like the look of the small better but ended up going with the medium as proportion- wise, it suits me better (but I’m 5’4” and average build) and can fit more things. I mostly wear it on the shoulder (but it’s also one of the few Chanels I own that I can wear crossbody comfortably).

Oh my goodness, are they really making a backpack version in this pink color?? I might have waited with buying my medium BA if I only knew that...it’s going to be die for! Anyway, the strap length of the medium is the only real con of this bag considering it can’t be adjusted and one size doesn’t fit all. I am tall so it’s perfect for me though. I tend to carry it all three ways but for someone petite I know the small has a better length. I believe that with BA the smaller the size the cuter it looks, I practically gave up the idea of the large one because the medium looked cuter. Sometimes I wish I went with large cause I really had to downsize my items I put in, including wallet. Honestly I had the same dilemma because I went with medium size I can’t use it as my everyday bag for work which could have been done with large. I’m probably not making it easier but it looks like it would be ideal scenario to have all three sizes in different colors :) Either way it’s amazing bag and you will love it regardless which size you go with!

Wow the navy looks really gorgeous under natural sunlight! (and good to see Macau under the sun again) The small looks absolutely adorable!

You certainly made a good on usage, lee_dya. Due to my height I do tend to be attracted to smaller bags, but I always struggle to wear these bags - I am just not quite there yet in terms of being minimal. Thanks also for sharing your preferences on how to wear the bag; it's very helpful. =]

Interesting that you had the opposite dilemma! Do you use it as an everyday bag?

Right now I am slightly more inclined to get it in medium since in occasions I'd like to look a little bit more classy/ lady-like I can just hold the bag as a top handle, and when I really need my hands I can wear it crossbody, which I think will be my most preferred way of wearing the BA anyway. Plus the extra room does mean quite a lot to me.
