I just got the Medium BA this week as my first Chanel bag! Looking at it here at home, though, I notice that one side creases kind of funny. This is with it empty. I put items in the bag and it was the same. Would this bother you?

Congratulation on your first Chanel. But yes it doesn’t look proper to me. Is the bag is filled with items or empty in this picture?

what does it look like from behind? Is it neat because I saw the right edge is curved (not sure if it’s the correct term) due to the sides distortion?

I would exchange. I won’t take SA’s word that the shape can go back to normal with use but I doubt since BA is such a structured bag. And for that money and first Chanel bag I want a bag I can be content about from the beginning. Good luck

Yikes, the side is damaged - I would definitely exchange it. Here's what the sides should look like.

At the boutique, my SA brought out a BA fresh from the box for me and the sides looked like this too! I felt the leather on the sides and it was super soft and thin, which is probably why it folds like that. My SA noted that it looked a little strange too.

For those who own a new BA, does it flop forward when it's empty? Also do the chains seem like they are twisted? A few youtubers have mentioned these on the older BAs but I'm wondering if the newer ones do the same.

I have one from 20B. It lists forward slightly but doesn't tip over. The chain can twist but not a major issue to me. I barely notice.

Hmmm I don't think a medium can fit a water bottle vertically with its flap comfortably closed. Mine is a medium and can't do it with a small Evian. You can see from the photograph that it's about the same height as the bag itself (excluding the top handle).
