@Diamondbirdie and their idea of owning just one bag for everyday use made me think.
In this time of plenty and endless options, can we actually survive with just one bag? Some of our parents or grandparents most likely did this. Minimalists do this.
Can a bag collector do it as well?

Let's try!
A few guidelines:
- you are free to choose the bag you want to try this with
- you are free to choose the time you will do this for; a week, a month, a year...
- you can stop at any time or keep going for longer, how ever you feel like
- please share the bag and time you will be doing this for, tell us your thoughts during and after, on both the bag and the experiment itself.

Let's talk! I hope for a lot of discussion about the things this challenge has taught us, what was easy, was there a rough spot, would you do this again, has it changed the way you look at the bag you chose or your whole collection, did it change your outlook on (wearing) bags altogether...?

PS. As life happens, there are things that don't count: reusable grocery bags, laptop bags, diaper bags, coolers etc.
This is a challenge about the bag you carry your wallet and phone in; the handbag, messenger, tote, pouch, whatever you carry in your everyday life.

So, why don't we give it a go! Who's with me? :happydance:

I'm undecided about the bag but I will take the challenge for 3 weeks, so until the end of January. I'm thinking Boss Taylor tote will come out of its dustbag in the morning as I need to see if I can fit my work laptop in it - if it does fit, Taylor will be my bag for all of this month. (But, as a woman, I reserve the right to change my decision) (a nylon tote or two are tempting me)

Early to the party, I’ve been wearing the same Dooney since Christmas.

A wholly unexpected Christmas gift from my DH, I’d originally thought I’d only wear it for a couple of days before changing bags.

Now I’m wondering just when that will happen. :confused1:

So (in the spirit of this thread) I’ll commit to keep wearing it for at least another two weeks. :yw:

For any number of reasons. Sentiment aside, it’s just so darn handy. Easily accommodating all
my essentials without weighing me down, it’s already proven itself impervious to a raging blizzard and two rambunctious terriers. :dog: :dog:

Sounds great! What a fantastic present and already it has proved its' worth in your everyday life.
Taking the challenge to use my Reissue 225 for a month and see how it goes. Of all the bags I own, that's my workhorse.
A splendid workhorse indeed!

It seems all of the things I need to have with me for work and play fit Taylor, so she will be my only bag until January ends. I was swaying between Taylor and Coach Field tote 30 for a while, just because I like the ease of the Field tote but Taylor needs to get out more.
Here she is, in all her (babywipe fresh) glory!

I can see why you chose this bag, Amazona!

It has that effortless upscale aura without divulging whether it’s concealing a legal portfolio or a half eaten sub. :ok:

Talk about time travel….

Sticking to using just one bag takes me back to a time when one bag was all I had. Back then it was less an accessory and more like a best friend. :ghi5:

And we all know how invaluable that relationship can be...

Oh yes! At one point in my life around my late teens/early 20s, I had one shoulder bag that I used every day. It was a close relationship, that one.
It would be nice to have that same feeling again with a bag, but as it turns out, I'm a different bag person now...I've committed to this challenge with the Taylor until the end of January - and 3 days later, I'm already looking at my Kurt Geiger bags like an ex I want to get back together with!:lol:

Hmm…it sounds like your best intentions could use the invaluable services of my Evil Twin.

Same, but that’s basically only taking me back two years! Well, I had 2 or 3, but most of the time I carried the same one every day for months.
