I watched both Black Panther and the ABC News Special: “Chadwick Boseman - A Tribute for a King” last night. I thought the special was really good and I definitely got emotional watching it.

Here are some clips from the ABC News Special: “Chadwick Boseman - A Tribute for a King”

so very sad....can't say he was a particular favorite of mine but I did see some of his work and he was talented. just so unexpected. he was in his prime. you never know what fate has in store

I have never seen an actor's life so celebrated and death so mourned like Robin Williams than Chadwick Boseman's. Stars like those two are once in a generation.

Ironically, I read an article earlier in the week that Chadwick died that described him and Seth Rogen as the actors of my generation and I agreed wholeheartedly.

there have been others too though
Whitney Houston (primarily a singer but very tragic death)....others but she comes to my mind right away.
I think with Boseman, he not only was a big star but he was in his prime and the furthest thing from what we think of as frail or sickly.
Robin brought so much happiness to people it was hard to understand how he was suffering. But now his widow is saying he had a form of dementia so maybe he didn't want to experience what was coming, or have his family see him that way.

these kinds of deaths are different for me - with whitney as you mentioned ad people like her it was a SMH kind of situation. she willingly took drugs knowing what it would possibly lead to. chad did not go anywhere to buy cancer or have cancer delivered to his hotel room. that is what is so sad about it to me. he had sooooo much potential and was doing his best living up to it. i pray he is resting in peace.

I definitely saw Whitney's death as a tragedy, but kind of one that we all saw coming if she continued down that path. She was definitely a once in a lifetime star too. Chadwick was a beacon of hope for so many people and he was someone many of us were very proud of.

he was just barely over the age when one starts getting colonoscopies.....so unless it ran in his family there would be no reason to expect this. very sad

He hadn’t reached that age yet. Most doctors don’t tell you to start getting colonoscopies until you are 50. Chadwick would’ve been only 39 when he was diagnosed. It was already advanced by then because nobody would think to look for it at that young age.

I don’t know. That would probably never be announced due to privacy concerns.

According to the American Cancer Society the lifetime risk of developing colorectal cancer is about 1 in 23 for men and 1 in 25 for women. That’s a higher rate than most people know about.

I think Katie Couric's husband died from colon cancer in his forties too. but unless it runs in your family, you wouldn't be looking for it at that age
