Certificate of Craft (Lifetime Warranty)

Honestly, these days you'd think they'd up their game. The 'we only guarantee black' makes me think they may outsource aftercare work.

* Black is not a safe colour. There are different shades of black.

* Codes, tech and colour-mixing should be able to match colours (not unusual finishes). The original formulae to colours are on file - that's how they create re-issues of the colour. If a batch of colour changes it's usually done to using it on a different type of leather or a definite decision. If Gucci can match Aviazione (blue-grey) from 12 years ago, I'm sure BV can match a bit of Ebano etc
The receipts and shipping addresses have been for BV atelier aftercare in Italy so I actually assume they do it in house but of course no guarantee. The buying black was an SAs advice but I also seen on the website that (at least a while ago) not all colours where covered by CoC, but I agree with you that it is ridiculous why they wouldn’t be able to match up seasonal colours.

Has anyone ever actually tried to use their COC? I have an intrecciato pouch with a COC that has dye transfer from a dress after not even 5 mins... wondering if the COC would cover this? i have had zero luck with other brand boutiques helping to remove these marks so have almost given up!

You should just ask bottega

I just emailed my SA. He said they would send the bag to Italy to check what they can do, which would take 10-12 weeks - which is about as long as I expected. Long time not to know if they will be able to fix it. Again, wondering if anyone here has had direct experience with using their COC for dye transfer cleaning?

In my experience, repair times have been notorious for taking forever hence I'm asking for experience before shipping my bag off for a quarter of a year.....

Coc is so new that I bet you probably won’t find anyone who has experience. I’m curious what they do about it if they can’t get it out - will they give you a new one bc it’s a coc bag or just say you’re out of luck? My opinion would be to send it off. However, it sounds like you frequently get dye transfer on your bags so it may not be worth it if it will happen again

You can try, but, my understanding would be if the dress dyed the bag, it's the dress that's at fault and COC wouldn't help. However, they could prob offer a clean as a gesture of goodwill, esp. if you just bought it. Worth a go IMO.

ITMT keep the dress away from all light and bright bags

Haha, not so much dye transfer but more repair issues. Ive had chains and zippers break within months of getting a new bag. COC has been around since end 2022 so would have thought someone might have had a story to tell.

If I ever get around to visiting the boutique to drop my bag, will report back...

Yeah thats a good point. It was very bizarre - at a wedding and I noticed the marks before the ceremony had even started. Looking into a good spray to prevent dye transfer from the get go is the next move for me!

Would you mind posting a picture or two, showing the color transfer?

As I am currently thinking of getting a BV Intrecciato leather bag in white color, I would be interested to learn more about your experience. 🙏

Hi Everyone, is the certificate of craft transferable? I recently acquired an Andiamo bag through a consignment store and it came with the card as the original owner bought the bag from the boutique.

Thanking everyone in advance.

Have any of you all ever utilized the Certificate of Craft warranty, and if so, what was the experience like? I saw a TikTok of a woman who had an Andiamo that had severe peeling of the straps presumably from repeated friction against the rivets. She said that Bottega was going to charge her $200+ to repair them despite having the warranty because it was “wear and tear.” This was surprising and kind of disappointing because at the store they make it seem like that’s exactly the type of damage that the warranty would cover.

I also had an awful experience with it. The magnet on my medium Andiamo does not close any longer and Bottega told me it’s functioning as normal, despite having a second Andiamo whose magnet is much stronger. Am considering what my next steps are, may do a chargeback at this point because they sold it with a lifetime warranty that they are not honoring.

After this experience I will no longer be purchasing from Bottega going forward, I was so surprised and turned off by their customer service.

Thanks for your response. I’m sorry you’re experiencing this. That’s super disappointing. I’m seriously considering getting an Andiamo or a Jodie bag. The lifetime warranty helps me justify the purchase to myself, but if they have a habit of not honoring it, I’m starting to think it may be a marketing ploy.
