If they don't need this information - why are we all getting emails saying they do? Are they just weeding out USA customers since they assume we won't want to provide (rightfully!!) this information! If so - that bugs.
Great question. I think a lot of us are wondering this. There is not an item on this earth that I would provide that information for without necessity; certainly not a pair of sunglasses.
I actually emailed her back this morning and told her I didn't even have a passport, whatever, and she frankly replied "Then no sunglasses."

Wow - that's just awful - it's even worse if what the other poster said is true and they don't even need it to make the sale.
i actually didn't give her a copy of my passport. i took an iphone picture of my state-issued drivers license and that was fine. ???
weird. well. i know the reason for supplying my phone #, it's for DHL to track you down once the shipment arrives so that someone may physically sign for it.
i don't know. i think it's all legitimate.

Inconsistencies bother me - especially when it comes to this sort of thing.
Well, she is telling the rest of us that a passport is absolutely necessary.
Also, we are not talking about phone numbers. We are talking about social security numbers.
I have been buying from them for years & I have had to fax them a copy of my passport every time. I'm in Scotland UK & so it's nothing to do with a tax refund b/c I don't qualify for one living in Europe. No other country asks for this apart from France. She is extremely abrupt, I often receive one word replies

That's good to know! I'm actually interested in ordering something, but have so much difficulty since she either replies with one-word answers or not at all. Do you know any other contacts at Printemps?

I was just wondering - this site someone mentioned, Voguest, would you buy from them? I have found large Celines (they are the ones I'm looking for, of course ) http://www.voguest.com/CELINE-SC1755N-Black-sunglasses.html , how come no one buys from them? Fake/unreliable site or..?
