This is my honest opinion after daily use on and off for 5 years..

I would say if you are going for canvas mono or reverse they are casual, not dressy. The empreinte version does look dressier in my opinion, especially black. I do not use this bag for "dressy" use. But, I'm a casual gal so I don't dress up a lot. I have different bags for "dressy" use.

Pros: lightweight when loaded up with a compact wallet, keys, wet ones, phone. (IMHO) Casual and good for everyday use. I love the multiple compartments to organize everything, this is why I used it so much to be honest. All of the items you mentioned should fit just fine.
Cons: Heavy (but not unbearable) when loaded up with a long zippy wallet, mini PA, phone, wet wipes, and keys. It can be difficult to snap the metal closure, and the metal has lots of scratches from trying to close it. Cracks could occur on the canvas from opening/closing a lot. The vachetta has more wear especially if you get caught in a rainstorm. I didn't wrap my handles. Yes, the vachetta will darken over time with use, especially if it is exposed to weather and daily use.

I would maybe wrap the handles if you get it in mono (to protect the vachetta from water/oils). The edge coating of my strap is peeling also. I used to love this bag so much which is why I used it a lot. I believe the PM in mono looks the best brand new (after lots of use I don't think it looks as good imo).

I think if you purchase in mono definitely try to look at the bag in person. I would just make sure the vachetta and overall bag look satisfactory. Reverse might be better because it has treated leather. At the time, I just got whatever was available because I was on a waitlist. I should have held out for one that was better made to begin with. Of all my bags, I'm disappointed with how much this bag has worn overall compared to my other LV bags which got a lot of use as well. That's my honest opinion. All that being said, I would recommend it, just be careful if you get mono. Hope that helps.

They should have plenty of pochette metis now as they always do after the significant price increase. I saw it 'place in cart' on the website for several days straight now. I initially got the mono but because of the glazing issue they offered me a replacement, and I opted for the reverse because I wanted to avoid the vachetta at all cost, and the reverse is more fun! Otherwise, it's a lightweight bag and hold a lot. I used it all the time whenever I travel, you can buy a separate strap or chain strap to dress up the bag too.

Thank you for the honest and detailed review! :flowers:
I kept trying to find images of the PM after daily wear for extended periods of time and all I could get were brand new pictures of the bag on google images lol

I've used the mono one quite often for 4 years straight and it showed minimum wears and tears, no peeling on the strap or the canvas, but definitely got some minor stains on the vachetta but a lot of people treated it with apple garde when it's brand new which seems to help.

Another thing I wanted to warn you is to examine each bag very carefully - especially how much they're charging for the PM nowadays. I know people always say it doesn't matter where the bag is made but who made it, but when I got the replacement in reverse mono, I had to exchange it 3 times to finally get one that's perfect IMO. The ones I've returned were all MIU with very stiff and plastic like canvas, in addition to that the stitching were off, the print on the reverse side looked faded and dry, and the corners didn't look smooth, etcs.. The one I kept is MII, the craftmanship is far superior and the canvas feels very nice and supple. When the canvas is stiff and dry, it tends to be more prone to cracking & peeling so wanted you to keep that into consideration. Not saying all MIU bags are bad, but from my experience with PM it seems to be the case. A lot of people settled for the MIU ones during pandemic because it was hard to get - the SA tried to guilt trip me by saying that I'm lucky to even gotten to order one as the next customer would snatch it (the one with a lot of flaws) up in a heartbeat, but with LV continue to replenish the inventory now you should definitely be more picky! :P

You're welcome.
I've been thinking a lot about the PM since this post... I'm sorry to be wishy-washy, but now I would maybe not recommend the PM in canvas. I think it just has too many problems, unless you are super careful with it every time.
As Snibor mentioned, you can check out the clubhouse about the PM to read comments about wear and tear. Also, there are several ladies on YouTube that have detailed reviews on the canvas and empreinte PM. I'm kicking myself for not purchasing it in the leather version years ago, but just can't stomach the current price increase on this bag. Whatever you decide, I would consider what works best for you and what you will love using the most. Mentally, I'm trying to be much more careful with what I choose nowadays. Good luck and keep us posted on what you decide. :flowers:

I have it in black empriente and I absolutely love it. IMO it holds alot- my emilie wallet, key pouch, sunglasses, sanitizer, lotions, etc. I never overstuff it and never have had issues with peeling or it not closing properly. The strap is okay for me and no the bag never feels heavy. I don't recommend overfilling it or that could look odd and change the shape of it.

I just rented the PM in Reverse from Luxury Fashion Rentals. $160 for 30 days after coupon. Arriving today. I figure it's a great way to try the bag out for a month and then just send it back if I'm not in love with it, vs paying $2700 upfront and having to deal with a return if I don't like it. Happy to share my thoughts after using.

I bought my mono pm new when they were still under 2000. I don’t use it often but when I do I really like it. I usually like a much larger bag for everyday as I feel the need to carry everything I might need. I use the pm when doing a lot of walking and want light and hands free. I’m glad I have it in my collection. The lock is a bit fussy but it doesn’t bother me much. Although I like mine I’d never pay what they’re asking now especially for canvas.

I’ve had a couple of PMs and sold them because I just never used them. I didn’t like the closure and the compartmented style. For me an On The Go PM or On My Side PM are easier to get in and out of . A speedy 20 or 25 is also a great choice and I love the Vanity PM as well. Good luck and thank you for caring for others as a nurse!

Re: my rental PM. It arrived yesterday and I really didn't care for it. The features I was worried I wouldn't like - I didn't like. The snap closure, the flap, the briefcase look. The bag also smelled like someone's leather / vinyl car interior. I realize it's a rental bag that's been well-used (despite - it seemed to be in pretty good shape - date code was 2017) but I couldn't get past the smell. It also started bulging when I put all my Speedy 20 contents in it. I would have thought it would hold more than the Speedy 20 but it doesn't. It held the same amount but was also getting misshapen. I looked at the bag and thought no way would I spend $2700 on this. I sent it back for return this morning and hoping I get a refund of my $160.

It's funny.. I probably watched a few hours of YouTube videos on the PM and I knew within the first 1-2 minutes of getting it that I didn't like it.
