Try black suede or purple suede in SK, they are way SOFTER. I have them both.

I have SK in black-patent, wow is it ever stiff! I have to .5 size up (from my suede size). I just got pink-sparkle in the black-patent size..WAY more "room". I get the feeling patent is just really stiff! (a recent phenomenon?)

My black-patent Pigalle 120 bought a few yrs ago, is not like this. It stretched out nicely, no problem with tightness.

Have you tried the Pigalle Follies 120? They have it in black-suede, I have one.

You are saying the medium toe-box is uncomfortable? In what way? It "narrows" your toes too much?

I believe your toes has been "formed" to fit your Pigalle 120 (same toe-box as Pigalle Follies 120).

So, if you wear the So Kate "long enough", they will get "used" to the different (medium) toe-box, and thus "fit".

I myself am having to "cross the bridge", in terms of acceptance of the (longer) medium toe-box of So Kate. I am a Pigalle 120 (old cut) LOYALIST, and grudgingly have adopted So Kate (just a few pair). Mainly, due to Stilly's BRILLIANT exposition (outfits & photography). SK is Louboutin's new "signature shoe". It has very low-cut sides near toe-box (like the old-cut Pigalle 120), aka "sleek look".

Your size in So Kate (around 8 and 8.5) has a toe-box that's NEARLY IDENTICAL to the short toe-box of Pigalle 120. I was at the Barneys in Beverly Hills (Wilshire Bl), and watched a woman try on the So Kate pony-hair in a SZ 8. They damn nearly looked like Pigalle 120, in terms of toe-box!

The larger sizes (which Stilly & I wear in SZ 40 to 40.5) have a distinctly narrower profile (yuck). As they get worn, the toe-box will "widen". So, that's "cool" I guess!

I wear a 38.5 old piggy. 39.5 new piggy and follies. I can't cram into less than a 39 so Kate. It's damn frustrating. Literally cuts my toes off at the knuckle sometimes. I Vaseline them up to slide in properly thanks to helenoftroy's advise.
I just bask in my customs. I'm so glad I ordered a huge amount of old cut customs before the change.
I have a very high arch so my foot doesn't sit flat in shoes. I can't even wear most booties because of that.
Oh well. Glad I have enough old piggys to get me though until I'm old and rocking them in a wheelchair
