Oh, i had not considered that! Thank you! My engagement ring is white gold. No wonder the 1895 just felt that much more brilliant to me compared to the MP! And it is very shiny! Do you think the 1895 would make a stark difference next to my e ring in future, or it will lose its sheen after a while.
Platinum is always whiter than WG in general as well as being more durable and more expensive (platinum is more rare than gold).
I don't know if it is more of a stark difference or not - perhaps you can make note of it now that you are more aware of the differences in metals in person if you go to Cartier again. I can't say - I can only see the difference in the pics, and I did assume your engagement ring was WG because it looks similar in color to the Maillon.
All I know is that with WG, you can have it rhodium-plated to make it look whiter if your engagement ring isn't already. Rhodium is part of the platinum family so it makes it stronger/more durable or you can just leave it as it is and enjoy it! Just go with what your heart thinks is the right ring! They both can work!
