Oh, i had not considered that! Thank you! My engagement ring is white gold. No wonder the 1895 just felt that much more brilliant to me compared to the MP! And it is very shiny! Do you think the 1895 would make a stark difference next to my e ring in future, or it will lose its sheen after a while.

Platinum is always whiter than WG in general as well as being more durable and more expensive (platinum is more rare than gold).
I don't know if it is more of a stark difference or not - perhaps you can make note of it now that you are more aware of the differences in metals in person if you go to Cartier again. I can't say - I can only see the difference in the pics, and I did assume your engagement ring was WG because it looks similar in color to the Maillon.

All I know is that with WG, you can have it rhodium-plated to make it look whiter if your engagement ring isn't already. Rhodium is part of the platinum family so it makes it stronger/more durable or you can just leave it as it is and enjoy it! Just go with what your heart thinks is the right ring! They both can work!

Just to update - i went totally off tangent and got neither of the 2 but the etincelle half eternity in 2.6mm (it is the thinner eternity band in the photos). Brought my non-cartier eternity ring in to the store with me and i just loved how it all stacked up together. The non cartier eternity was a push present from my husband (to clarify, this new wedding band is a replacement for a lost wedding band from years ago) and was not meant for daily wear so i am really pleased with how the etincelle fits nicely for my daily wear now, but yet i can stack and dress it up with my other rings. Thank you for the input and for sharing my excitement!

Great choice! I like it better than the other two choices with your ring!

The Étincelle line is beautiful! I like how the setting makes the diamonds appear more square than round, giving it a more modern, clean look.
