sorry did not mean to sound offensive and if so i apologize, I agree its up to each persons taste.
Its just my opinion and i am a very frank person by nature so if i offeneded anyone i did not mean to do so.
I would have advised my sis the same if she asked me,

I don't Rolex is an ugly watch, I think it is a matter of preference for each person in choosing which style they like. I think Rolex is a classic and it has been established for long time.
It is the attitude, manner and how you carry yourself that would show if a person has a class or no class imo.
Having said that, I guess I kind of understand too what you are getting at by saying that there are some people who wear Rolex just because Rolex is more recognizable as an expensive watch and show a status (sp), hence the reason they buy the watch is to show off.
I have Hermes bags and I also have some LV monogram bags and other bags in my collection.

Any other opinions about the santo modeiselle style? pro and con? I know that this model came out last year to replace the panthere style. So I guess the style is not yet popular because it is recent. I though I like the style..soft, more polished looking and dressier than the tank franciene (sp), and classy.

I love the clean classic look of the Mademoiselle - as a matter of fact my husband is giving me one with the pink mother of pear face for Mother's Day. Of all the Cartier's, this is the one I wanted. I'm not a Rolex person, I carry some of the same opinions of them that others have stated.
I love the Cartier Santos!! I have it in the Galbee, bought it 5 years ago and it's the only watch I really wear. I bought it in the stainless steel (personal preference) and take it to get cleaned every year or two. It always looks new
I used to own several watches but after buying the Santos I find it hard to even try on something else. I think that Rolex will always be classic but where I live I see them all the time and it has just lost a bit of its appeal for me.

Mikimoto pearls are just FRESH WATER?
Salt Water pearls are the pearls you should be aiming for..... If I were you I would go for BLACK SOUTH SEA.... 11mm should be great....
Mikimoto is just a name for FRESH WATER PEARLS.... SALT WATER PEARLS ARE THE TRUE KING OF THE SEA!!!
