Thank you. I know there's a separate Paris thread but it's all getting so confusing. Between possible increases, taxes, exchange rates.....I'm not sure what to do. My concern is the USA SA won't be truthful because they will want the sale. But if Paris is a better deal (and more fun) then I'd like to know that.
Mine will be honest as we're picking up my anniversary gift.

As other's said there was a recent price increase by Cartier in the US, so it's unlikely we will have another in the next 5 months. SA's do not get that much notice, so usually once you hear about it there are 30 days or less before it's happening. If you are buying it in Paris, for the most part it's for fun or a as souvenir of the trip. I've rarely seen where it ends up being cheaper than just purchasing here even if you take into account the return of the VAT (and I had an occasion with issue of the VAT not being returned), once you take into account the exchange rate, currency conversion fee by most credit cards if you pay by card, duties etc. Wishing you luck whatever you decide.

I've been thinking the same thing. I am about to make another big unexpected purchase, and so at this point, I think I'm gonna just see how it all plays out.

I had a problem with the VAT refund too. Never got it when I got home. So frustrating. Calling Paris from US is frustrating. Finally my credit card got involved which is another long story, but I finally got it. Not to mention the custom duties I paid here. Not worth it to me.

Ya know, this is all sounding like a big pain in the arse. I'm just gonna pick it up in PA when I'm ready. Lord knows I'll find something else in Paris. Lol.
