Even if the online store is out of stock, I'm pretty sure you can go to the boutique and put in an order with one of the SAs and lock in the current price. I was in the boutique 2 weeks ago and they didn't have the size in the ring I was looking for, but the SA told me that I could put in an order now at the current price (with payment of course) and they would call me when it came in. The boutique inventory was also very low.
Also, I don't know if Cartier will take a similar approach to VCA, but VCA updated their prices on their website one day before like at 7 or 8 PM the projected price increase day.

Yes, it's normal. No need to worry. I bought something a month ago and that's exactly what happened. Once the item is ready to be shipped, you will receive another email with shipping details.
Agreed. And when I placed my order in September I didn’t have to pay until I went in to pick it up just in case I didn’t like it so it’s a pretty fair system. Calling into the store is a good idea too for those who live a bit far from a boutique! But if you call in I’m not sure how the payment process works since I placed my order in store
Is the inventory before and after the price increase different? They're not changing designs or anything, are they?
