Thanks for the info, I actually checked and notice the substantial discount in yellow gold Cartier watches, but seem there are not many second hand rosegold Cartier watches available for sale? It seem to be that their rosegold watches will hv better value retains compare to their yg counterparts? Any insights in respect of this? Thanks
Yellow gold has been the traditional "color" of choice when it comes to a "colored" gold and at this point in time, it is generally valued more than rose or pink gold.
Rose/pink gold has become very popular in the past 5-10 years but only time will tell on how well it will hold it's value which will depend on how much people value it.
Generally speaking, watch buffs and watch collectors (who have far more insight on watches than I do) will tend to go the more traditional route and go for the YG.
(This may be different for a younger generation who may buy just based off of preference or how unique/special a piece may feel to them.)
Not as many people buy rose gold watches (as compared to YG) so just because one sees less rose gold on the resale market does not mean that those who buy RG will be more likely to keep and value it. Nor does it mean that RG will retain its value better.
