That is possible because every peice had an id number. If you bought it from Cartier themselves anywhere in the world I believe you will be on their computer. They simply ask your name and your address at the time of purchase before you drop anything off (watch battery etc) . In England I think it is a matter of luck but I did have to pay quite a lot once to have the small Love necklace polished up, and they had offered which I thought was a bit rich.
