Hi Everyone!!

I already got some great responses in my dbty thread, but I thought I'd get more input if I created one with a poll.

I am debating between the plain yg Love bracelet and the plain gold Perlee bracelet. I thought I wanted the Cartier Love until I tried on the perlee at the store and fell in love! It was so comfortable and beautiful.

What I like about the VCA perlee:
1. It's different and not everyone has it
2. It's more feminine looking and very intricate
3. You can take it on/off
4. The design of the bracelet makes it hard for scratches/patina to show
HOWEVER,
I think it only comes in wg and rg. . .and I really wanted something in yg to tie my whole jewelry collection together. I have been wearing my mom's TT yg Rolex with diamond markers with my soleste and my platinum three diamond pendant. I thought a gold bangle would really add something to my look. But the rg was really lovely and blended in with my skin tone nicely. And the rg color is very subtle.

What I like about the Cartier LOVE:
1. It comes in yg
2. I like that you can screw it on and wear it forever
3. It is not fussy and its plain design can be easily dressed up or down
4. It is an iconic piece and has been a popular design since the 60's
BUT, I wonder if the industrial design of the bracelet is a little too masculine for me?

Both bracelets are the same price.

I'm a huge fan of the Love. And while more people have it, it's really not that many people "in real life" (vs. TPF). Also, I like that it doesn't SAY the brand, like if you know, you know, but a lot of people don't know.

Thanks Bag*snob! It is definitely unique and very pretty! whoops mentioned it looked like a cake. . .and maybe that's one of the reasons why I like it!

LOL, I know what you mean! That was one thing I did NOT like about the perlee - it had VCA written all over it, like literally!! The Cartier brand is more subtle in that people who know Cartier recognize the lug bolt/screw design but it doesn't scream the brand name.

Actually, I think the VCA is more subtle than the love? Maybe because the love collection has so much more exposure through celebrities and stuff. If I saw the VCA in person I'd have to be pretty darn close to read the engraving. But the Cartier I would be able to tell from a further distance.

But my vote is still Cartier! I love the more casual look and feel of it. Less fuss. More simple. And it comes in YG which is what you wanted.

Just don't fall from the pressure from VCA increase like you did tiffanys for your DBTY. Go with what you love (pun intended. Lol)

Ooo you know me so well! Haha. I did feel a little pressure into getting the dbty because of the impending price increase. I usually have a very hard time picking and choosing, and sometimes a little pressure or pull from one side helps me pick! But sometimes it ends up not being what I wanted at all ;) I'm so silly!

Edit: whoops, when will you get your love? Wedding gift from DF (which is just a few short months away)???

I think both are beautiful. I just got the love bracelet and I have found that most people around me don't know what it is. I think you really need to know the brand to know what it is.

I agree the VCA is beautiful and unique but I'm not a fan of the engraving on it which would sway me back to the love bracelet.

That's true. lanasyogamama also mentioned that not as many people as I think have it. . .but I still think the LOVE bracelet is more recognizable than the perlee bracelet. I am also not a big fan of the engraving . . . I'd wish they had the clover design over the bracelet instead. I know they have one with pave diamonds but that one is just wayyy out of my budget!

Honestly. I love both and thought about both. I went with the Cartier as it was more sleek looking and I can layer more with it and it doesn't look OTT.
The Perlee should stand alone, IMO. The Love looks great with anything you put with it. I just got a VCA onyx and it looks awesome layered with the Cartier, I can wear any bangle and it fits in nicely.
If you are planing on wearing this alone, the Perlee makes a great statement.

I personally like the Cartier, but I'm a guy and have always liked clean looks moreso than "fancy" styling.

Have you tried to contact Van Cleef & Arpels about getting the bracelet in yellow gold? Do they do special/custom orders?

This is a tough choice. I just love VCA pieces, and would pick VCA more over Cartier in general. But If you want an everyday piece that can be worn day in and day out, the Love bracelet is a better choice imo. It really is such a comfortable piece. For me, Perlee just won't be as comfortable. I am not a bracelet person at all, and the fact I can wear the Love bracelet everyday says a ton.
