Cartier Love Bracelet Nightmare: Defective Product, Negligent Service, and a Shameful Experience

Wow, I’m surprised to see this. I hope your bracelet gets fixed! I would keep returning it to customer service if it continues to do that. It shouldn’t pop out like that (just moving that latch out is a pain because it feels really stuck to the bracelet and needs a little force to release it), and I agree it is an expensive piece. It doesn’t sound like you remove this piece daily either.

I did read years ago in this forum about someone losing this bracelet because it came off on its own (sorry, don’t remember which thread - it was years ago), but the SA I spoke with at the time said that was impossible - citing that the pave was the most secure of all the locks - so I thought I read the post wrong. I’m sorry to hear you are having this problem. I would ask for a replacement if it continues to do that. It depends on the store and manager approval I guess. Perhaps if you can compare to a newer one they have in stock, you could ask why that latch pops out on its own.

thank you and yes I hope they could fix it this time! So far customer service has been good and the SA is super helpful. The only thing that is a bit upsetting is that every time they fix it they have to polish it, so after the initial fix the bracelet edge becomes much more smooth and I do miss the original sharp edge if you know what I meant this time I did tell the SA to do as less polishing as possible, hoping that no more gold will be lost and the bracelet can remain in its current condition

This is the most secured bracelet out of their collection! Do you hear it click with slight force when it is closed? When it clicks into place are you able to lightly pull on the hook mechanism to feel that it is secured and locked into place? If it comes out with the slightest tug then it is a defect and Cartier should fix it or exchange it. Hope they will do good in customer service!

I know! I can hear the click sound when it is closed and when it’s locked into place most of the time it is secured. I did notice that occasionally the latch opens partially by itself and then at some point I became paranoid and checked and pressed on the latch every hour to ensure it’s locked my bracelet is less than a year old and it has already been polished due to the first fix, so this time i was praying for a permanent fix! 🥺

The situations with these bracelets opening, etc. makes me too nervous to own the traditional LOVE bracelet!! I have LOVE Cuffs and highly recommend them to anyone who is concerned by these types of threads. It's nice to just slip it off if I'm cleaning the house or going someplace where I am worried about safety and not wanting to wear expensive bling! The Cuff also feels very sturdy!

Defective pieces are not remotely common. But like anything, nothing is perfect 100% of the time, sometimes there's a defect, Cartier has been very responsive and freakishly swift for my one issue. (1 issue out of 8 pieces)
