Don't buy the small ones, do your research with trustpilot and BBB. The bigger size has better quality, the SM has constant issues

I don't prefer the small one, but I never had any quality issues with mine. Also never heard that the small love has more issues, if anything most online reviews mention issues with the old screw system of the regular one.

A lot of people like the small love, but some are defective in different ways - the screw pops up, the lock gets loose, the hinge swings, etc. The classic love with two screws seem to work better - they click when you rotate, not smooth as before. No one seems to complain ever since the new two screws revision was made. Maybe this was 3 years ago. Best of all, Cartier will fix the old versions with no charge - but it will require some repolishing/refinishing which people hate because the ‘history’ of the piece or patinas are gone. If the bracelets are not repolished, there will be more scratches from the mounting. I say this because some of the old Classic love screws did have quality issues - the halves would come off and fall.

I think the problem boils down to the fact that your return was severely scratched. I think the item would have been replaced quickly if it wasn’t scratched and it was just a defective hinge. But online returns have become difficult for all companies, regards of luxury or not. Online buying isn’t as easy as it used to be. Some companies would lie and say the item was used by the buyer, even though it was sent used. One notorious one was Saks where consumers escalated it to NBC news. You could escalate this to corporate with a letter to see if you could get a full refund. I’m not sure what tpf thread I’d seen, but I remember someone writing a letter to a Cartier office. I’m not sure if that case was resolved.

Cartier is pretty good about resolving things. I hope your problem gets resolved. As a customer, I’m pretty impressed that Cartier doesn’t charge if there is a quality issue (so far). One of the perks of buying from a luxury house I guess. But I’m sorry to hear about your online return. Hopefully yours gets resolved soon.

Just want to clarify that "no one" is incorrect. Mine got much worse - see my posts. Unless I am no one ...

Ah..I don’t read tpf posts often. I stand corrected. Maybe this 2 screw system will go away eventually. Seems that way because the Cartier rep I spoke with hinted at it. Now they are testing the medium love’s hinge, so it’s been a limited release.

I do like the Chanel coco crush’s locking mechanism for the mini bracelet. Too bad Cartier didn’t use it. No need for a screw driver.

Came across this and thought the highligting of the original LOVE bracelet designer, Charles Revson (founder of Revlon Cosmetics), and the history was cool. Bet Tiffany still regrets their decision!

Thank you for sharing! Just like Cartier probably regrets not jumping on that Chanel Crush lock design and keeping the patent. Only time will tell because those Chanel bracelets are super pricey and light weight compared to Cartier’s.

Not sure if I’m misunderstanding, but based on how you’ve written your sentence, I think you’ve mixed up the info froim the video: Charles Revson was not the original designer. It was Aldo Cipullo (that is even said in the video). Cipullo worked with Revson to create this electroplated version. Cipullo then took the design to Tiffany and Co, who passed on the design. Cipullo then took the design to Cartier. Neat history! Thanks for sharing the video!
